Usually I like the gumbo. But I ordered fried catfish take-out not too long ago. It didn't taste fresh. It also didn't digest well with me.

The lunch was hot with fried fish and seasoned fries. Excellent service was provided such as prompt free refills and togo materials.

This by far was the worst soulful place I’ve ever been to the food was old, cold and soggy, and I couldn’t even get a refund and I also seen the Chef cooking with his bare hands, the fish and flour and chicken. This is disgrace I came in here spending over $60 for nasty gumbo and overcooked chicken.

Spent $35.00 for two "crab cakes" and gumbo. Both "crab cakes" were burnt, and the gumbo tasted old. My gripe is with the poor quality food served for the high price.Being a first-time guest, the food was still presented poorly, prepared old, and burnt, which caused this visit to be the last.

I have been a customer for the past 10 years and I'm delighted to say that Bayou meets my requirements for a great community eatery. The fish is always fresh, and the fried fish is lightly battered with just enough seasoning (never too heavy of on the salt). My personal preference of side dishes is the coleslaw (its always just enough mayo). And Michael and the staff are courteous and professional. Great lunch and dinner spot in the neighborhood.
