Café Irvine is a homey, community-oriented spot inside the 19000 MacArthur building with free parking validation. The food is top notch, excellent, fresh, and a perfect combination of flavors. The menu offers healthier options, rotates every few months, and the entire deli is kosher and halal.
Specific items receive high praise. The pesto chicken sandwich is called a must-try and the best ever. The breakfast burrito is out of this world, huge, packed, and flavorful, served with both green and red salsa. The chicken soup is flavorful with fresh ingredients and so good. For coffee, the iced Spanish latte is perfect with a strong coffee flavor and subtle cinnamon finish. Sweet treats like the chocolate chip cookie and the Dubai chocolate are described as life-changing and sooo good.
The owners are passionate, down to earth, and genuinely invested in serving good, wholesome food. The café is minority-owned and provides great service. UCI students and building employees get 20% off. It is an absolute must for anyone in the Irvine/Newport area, whether working nearby, staying in a hotel, or just passing through.
