This Korean spot in Irvine is a fantastic destination for satisfying comfort food, particularly excelling in its flavorful chicken wings and spicy rice cake dishes (Tteokbokki). The menu features a strong variety of Korean staples, including excellent kimbap and hearty noodle soups, making it a great place for sharing. Portions are generous, and the overall quality is consistently high, making it a reliable favorite among locals for a casual and tasty Korean fix

I did not liked the tenders at all, they were so dry and tasted so bland. I would had Carls jr chicken tender or KFC chicken tenders instead, it was not worth the price.

I came here with friends for a high school reunion! Service was so kind, immediate, and direct. We came on a Sunday morning, around 11 am just when the restaurant opened. There aren’t many people around this time, so if you are looking for a place to grab brunch - this place is wonderful!

For a party of four we ordered the Bunsik Combo: Grilled Beef Kimbap, spicy beef noodles, and rose pasta

It satisfied the taste palates reflecting the spectrum of those who do not like spice and those who did. The food was savory and fresh. There were pickled radishes and kimchi to accompany the main dishes.

The size of the kimbaps were generous compared to the ones you would get from a Korean convenience store or supermarket. The spicy beef noodles was not greasy and instead warm to the soul. I think there was a good balance of noodles, meat, and vegetables that I really appreciated. I’m so much more used to there being too much noodles - as much as I like noodles, it is not what I would pay for compared to the balance of flavors. The rose pasta was topped with corn that hugged my taste palates. Creamy and delicious - reminding me of Alfredo pasta with a lingering touch of Korean tteobokki.

The small details that enhanced our time here - the garnishes, the glass cups for the water, and the care provided by the staff. We did not feel rushed at all, and it was such a blessing to just dine with friends here! Thank you all so much.

This is one of the few places I always come back to. I remember getting loads of takeout from Chan Chan during covid, or if it was just a treat myself day, or had a bad day at work. Their Korean comfort food like Korean fried chicken and kimbap is basically an Irvine staple, with this year marking 10 years they've been open, and their inside dining just got a long overdue remodel.

You've gotta try some of their new items like cheesy pork belly with shishito peppers and the GIANT basket of fried goodies. There's onion rings, fried squid, seaweed dumplings, and more in it.

And this is where you'll find the best Korean fried chicken in the GAME. Super crunchy batter, sauces are to d!e for, and MEATY pieces of chicken.

And you can't forget about the tteokbokki or soondae which is rice sausage. I got the rose flavor this time and it was perfectly creamy with a tiny bit of spice.

And I always look forward to this Korean dessert. It's called sikhye, and it's a sweet rice drink in slush form. SO refreshing and addicting.

Thanks for reading! ^-^

Good is just okay but price is quite high-end. Ordered calamari, fried chicken, beef noodle and spicy rice cake to go. Beef noodle is the most plain one, and beef tasted like lamb.

My favorite food is Chan Chan Kimbap. It is the best which I ever had. I would like to recommend a spicy bibim noodle if you like spicy food. It tastes good and comes with lots of fresh vegetables. It would be perfect if the sauce could be a little bit reduced by amount.
Regarding Tteobokki, I wish it has more rice cakes and less less sauce for tastes and environment.
Overall I love Chan Chan because it soothes my nostalgia of Korean snack(street) foods.

A little pricey but the food is always good!

I was looking forward to revisiting one of my favorite restaurants after a long time.
Unfortunately, the food was overly salty and hard to enjoy, and overall, it fell short of my expectations.
Additionally, the staff member who took our order was quite unfriendly, which made the experience even more disappointing.
Regrettably, I don’t feel inclined to visit again.

If you love 한국 분식, then this is the place for you.

As one of Irvine's first establishments for elevated 분식, they're skilled in producing succulent 김밥, hardy 떡뻑기, and transcendent 비빔 국수.

Honorable mentions are the fried chicken and calamari (which is a bit of a misnomer because 오징어 is cuttlefish, not squid). The batter they use is akin to a beer batter, something with a nice crisp and heavy crunch.

The kimbap and different fried items are amazing. Everything else can be a bit of a hit or miss, but if you have a hankering for some Korean staples, Chan Chan's got you covered.

My son and I visited Chan Chan for the first time. First off, we ordered too much food. We ordered 3 dishes and took more than half of it home.

We had the Chan Chan chicken tenders. Just wonderful. The sauce was just right and the chicken was perfect. Then we had the Kimchi Rice Cake (bowl). It was spicy but we kept on eating it. And then we had the beef Kimbap which was a great combination of tastes.

I look forward to the leftovers!
