Prepare to be ignored and go hungry. My husband and I waited an hour for food and the party who ordered 15 min after us got served before us. It takes them 15 min to prepare each dish - and they don’t serve the next party until they finish every single order in the prior party (no matter how big). It is the most inefficient and asanine system. They also completed all of the to go customers prior to us. We left after an hour and will not be coming back. Avoid!
Well, I've tried 2 times to eat at this place. Each time when I walked in there were tables available and no guests waiting to be seated. However in each case no restaurant staff showed the slightest interest in the fact that a customer (me) was waiting. I stood there in the entry for 5 minutes and finally got tired of being ignored. On this most recent visit I did take the opportunity to look over the buffet (??). I have to say the food looked pretty unappetizing sitting there in the steam trays. As was the case on my previous visit, I gave up on this place and went next door to the Tangdu restaurant. The food there, by the way, was very good.
The best Chong Qing cuisine in California!Must-try:- crispy cube chicken peppercorns- fried pork intestine in mala peppercornsMake sure to dine-in to enjoy the meal while its hot.A lot of parking, but few tables. Quick preparation time. Clean restroom with running water and fresh soap.Well done!
This place was so good !! I called ahead to ask about the veggie dishes and they said everything under the vegetables section is meat free (including seasoning) except for the vermicelli with minced pork. The eggplant and string bean dishes were my favorite and the mapo tofu was delightful. They're closed 3-5pm for dinner prep fyi !
I placed an order online, and the order status wasn’t updated, so I had to go in to check. When I got there, they were confused about my order. Eventually I got it. The bag was tied up and hard to open. The kung pao shrimp ? could have had some rice to it. Plum drink is ok.
This is the some of the best Sichuan 川菜 I've had in the US. Ignore the bad reviews from the random white people who come here and order orange chicken and give it bad ratings. This place is legit. The portions are huge. The chef is apparently actually from Sichuan, so it's better than many of the other places around Irvine that also sell Sichuan dishes. In particular, their mapo tofu is the best I've had in the United States - when I was living on the east coast I would eagerly await flying back to CA just to come here and order it.
Chingqing cold dishes is my ultimate dish. The one from this place has good meat quality, but not much tendon. Not the tastiest but still good
It’s not same quality like before few years. Online Ordering system doesn’t pass instructions to chef. Thankfully they honored request in restaurant and replaced order to match request.
Very good chongqing style cuisine! It is hard to find soft braised tofu around Irvine and I’m glad they have it here.

Relatively authentic sichuan food - not spicy enough for my taste. Presentation is sloppy and prices are on the high side.
We ordered tofu and vegetable soup, Kungpao chicken, cold noodle with special sauce, and beef in dry pot. The soup just tasted like white pepper and nothing else. The kungpao chicken was very Americanized and too sweet. The cold noodle’s sauce was even more sweet, like I can taste the sugar. The beef would’ve been good if there was less numbing pepper in there.
I really loved the dishes and customer service, good area next to my home. The workers are always very nice. Will come visit again.
eh, i think the food was old and it had like sour vinegar type taste . the spicy chicken was ok, but i spent like 80$ on valentines day and we basically threw it out.... and i am seriously not a shy eater either. very disappointed despite the positive reviews. the garlic green beans were the best item....
Family loves to order 10 course meal take out meals from here. Many of their spicy dishes use the numbing “ma-la” spices - beware! Otherwise, must order everything from the salt and pepper fish, pork chop, green beans, spicy tofu, spicy fish. Enjoy!!!
