Not a great place for those with various allergies
In very particular about eating Mexican food. I'm Mexican (obviously) and my entire family and I are amazing cooks. This is definitely a winner on my small list of Mexican cuisine locations I'm willing to eat at.

A bit overpriced
The food was good . The only problem was that they have limited options for vegetarians . They had run out of the vegetarian chile rellonos at 7.30 pm on a Sunday night. Very disappointing.
Second location of this local chain.
We had fun and eat way to much!
Order the fajitas Shrimp and steak. Just right amount of food. The chips and guacamole was excellent. Round tortilla chips as their table chips.

The wait staff and food were very good but the place is SO LOUD! You have to yell over the din of the restaurant so we will not be going back.

SOL Mexican Cocina has a great atmosphere and the food is flavorful, but the portions are on the smaller side. During my visit, a few menu items were also unavailable, which was a bit disappointing. They do validate parking, which is convenient, though we still ended up paying an additional $3. Overall, it’s a nice place with good vibes, but something to keep in mind before you go.

It was a very pleasant with only a few technical errors. Nothing that will prevent me from returning, and I'm very excited to try their extensive taco menu.
Highly recommended dessert drinks as well.

Restaurantji Recommends
I’ve stopped by SOL in Newport Beach a few times to charge my car, but this was my first time actually sitting down for a meal. The space is bright with good lighting, and the restaurant has a paid parking garage. If you have a Tesla and the code, the first 45 minutes are free, which makes it really convenient.
The food was decent overall. I ordered the Mexx Chop Salad, which was big and filling. Chips and salsa were complimentary, and the red salsa was the standout for me. The chips were thin, fresh, and crisp. I also tried the carne asada tacos. They were okay, not amazing, but still enjoyable.
Service was friendly, the environment felt relaxed, and the convenience of being able to charge while eating is a big plus. I’d give it a solid 4 out of 5 and would come back again.

We had the sweet corn appetizer and the classic guacamole. Both were delicious. Three of our party got burritos and the fourth got 3 chicken tacos plate. We all really enjoyed our food. The service was very good and the ambience also great. We all really enjoyed our lunch.
The location, decor, and music are great. The food is disappointing. The chicken fajitas were dry (and it was thigh). The carnitas were even dryer. Carnitas are my 16 year old's favorite meal and he could not finish them. The calamari and corn appetizers were good. The red salsa for the chips was good—I'm trying to find the positive. Unfortunately, the quality of the food did not match the price point.
Not that great, like quality. Nothing stuck out personally as memorable. Food was subpar. Not worth it, not recommend if you want good tasting food. Red o or Javier's way better
“Soft” corn Tortillas were stale/ hard. Drinks were decent. Came on a work lunch event. Glad I didn’t pay. Food was mediocre. Paying for the atmosphere.
