This place is nestled inside the Mitsuwa on Culver Dr. They have a great variety of sweet and savory pastries. My favorite bun is the Egg Donut - it's literally a marinated hard boiled egg inside a bun - SUPER GOOD.Their soft serve is also some of the best for the price - forget getting overpriced dessert in Irvine, get an awesome soft serve topped with Golden Grams for ~$5 here!

Very tasty. Matcha flavor is excellent

Very tasty and cute Japanese style pastries (macha, red bean flavored, etc), a bit pricy though.

I ordered two cream pans and let me say it doesn't disappoint. So if you love creamy custard filling folded into buttery bread that is made with TLC, then Hamada-Ya Bakery is the place to go. Now let's say you eat one and save the other for the next day, I suggest refrigerating it. Then when you want to eat it take it out of the fridge and let it sit until it's room temperature. Your taste buds are going to be very happy you did. ?

I haven't tried much from here, but...... from what I did try, I love, love, love their Coffee Jelly Milk. It is one of the rare places that still sells this beverage. It's milky and the coffee jelly is strong and tastes so good :) I definitely try to get this when I am in the area. The customer service is always kind and sweet. I definitely want to their their other items soon. Thank you Hamadaya Bakery!

Stopped by during opening hours so there wasn't many baked goods available. Coffee Jelly Milk (~$5) - one of my favorite Japanese drinks. This was decent but could use more coffee in the jelly.

I can't speak to any of the baked goods as I only ordered their green tea soft serve ($4.50) but it was delicious! Located inside the Mitsuwa market, their green tea soft serve is served in a cup with some cereal on the bottom and the combination of the creamy soft serve and crunchy cereal was perfect. A lot of places that serve green tea ice cream or soft serve end up being too mild or floral-y in my opinion, but Hamadaya's soft serve had a strong and distinct matcha flavor, reminiscent of Matcha Cafe Maiko. Service was also quick and friendly. If their pastries are anything like their soft serve, I'll have to check them out next time too.

Honestly, my favorite soft serve place.Located in Mitsuwa marketplace, Hamadaya is a bit of a local secret when it comes to soft serve. It cured my Sunday Scaries. The price and quality are both on point. Also, can't forget the crunchy cereal. It makes me fall in love with cereal every time. I have tried both just vanilla and mixed vanilla and matcha and both were amazing. This is my go-to place for soft serve. We tried the egg donut for the first time and thought it would be like a salted egg yolk or something, but no. It was a whole boiled egg! It was a great combo of sweet and salty. They even warmed it up and it was crispy and sweet on the outside with a whole boiled egg on the inside. I would definitely order again.Parking: parking lot but can get packed with all the restaurants nearby. There is also parking in the back (at the other entrance).Location: located in mitsuwa next to the food court so serves for some delightful dessert... or appetizer for your meal XD. That's what happened to us hehe.

Lots of delicious snacks here! Always great customer service too. I always order the coffee jelly drink, half sugar and baravian chocolate. Their cookies are good as well! The soft serve matcha is also great.

Amazing little bakery inside a supermarket! So many great choices for everyone to pick from. I got the Boston Cream Donut which was soooo good! The chocolate, cream and donut were a perfect balance of sweet and creamy! A must try if you go here! This was recommended by the staff and their awesome service. The atmosphere was very comforting and welcoming as the location is safe.

This bakery inside Mitsuwa is everything of goodness! I love getting breads here! They have thick and thin Japanese white bread for sale here. Now they offer half bag size too so if you don't want to buy a full loaf, you can buy half. It is pricey but it is so good. I also like their other bread, the darker brown swirl loaves one, I forgot that they're called, but they are more expensive. Their chocolate cream puff is also delicious! Most of their pastries are yummy but I love love getting Japanese breads here! Yummy!!

Always good! Have not had anything bad here. Like the iced milk tea, houjicha latte, and the mixed vanilla and green matcha tea ice cream. Good sandwiches - all the pastries are good.

This awesome bakery is located inside Mitsuwa marketplace in Irvine. Compared to other Hamada-Ya's, it's quite small. However, their quality of baked goods is still excellent. They still offer the to go packages of bread for sandwiches, and they also have soft serve. If you get there early enough, get their curry pan!! This is one of our fav spots to get this savory donut filled with warm curry. Since this bakery is a smaller than other locations, the variety of baked goods is small, but what they do offer is all of the popular items. Aside from curry pan, we got an almond danish and a chocolate donut. My kids destroyed the donuts, and said they were super chocolatey. This is a great place to stop for high quality baked goods on the go. Next time I'll need to try the soft serve everyone raves about.
