This place is not good any more as before, the eggplant was really really oily, they took away the hot water boiling Jaozi away with many varieties, they increased price so much, 5 Jiaozi for $10, crazy! No More my favorite !

Everything just tasted like it was steamed . Parking is always a challenge in that center and it was expensive for the portions they offer .

Last weekend we went to Irvine's Dumpling Shop to eat dumplings. Unfortunately, our favorite dumplings were no longer available. The meat filling of the dumplings with three delicacies fillings tasted like it had been waterlogged and had no texture. The beef also didn't have the same black pepper flavor it had before. And the meat is not fresh either. The shrimp and clam dumplings are made from leeks. Why did they change the leeks to yellow? It obviously doesn’t have the same flavor as the previous seafood and seafood. The pepper flavor is too strong. The braised pork tastes so tough. And that smell of roasted eggplant? Did the chef forget to add salt? The beef skewers are obviously not as delicious as before. The vegetarian eggplant box is a new dish, which is really disappointing. It doesn’t look good and the taste is nothing special. Has your chef changed? The menu has changed to this and I am speechless. I feel so disappointed this time.

I ordered the dumplings and it was scorching hot. The water actually burned my upper lip pretty bad. Called the manager, thought she would make it right, never heard back from her. The service was not the greatest either.

Came in yesterday and saw the Menu update and it's terrible. They've decreased the quantity portions by half which Ultimately raises the prices when you're trying to order the same amount. Very poor decision here. Will not be coming here again.

Love the food here especially the varieties of dumplings offered. We especially loved the Veggie fried rice and chicken mushroom dumplings.

Kid-friendliness: Really appreciate they offer us the kids friendly plates and utensils.

One of my must stops when in this part of the LA area. Easy access and ample parking. The dumplings are hand made in house and have great options for those that want vegan or non-vegan options. Tofu skin is great, same with the dumplings. Haven’t had a bad item and have been in small groups and large. Hope you enjoy also.

In the area shopping and stopped in for the first time. The food was hit or miss. We really enjoyed the angus beef with mushrooms and the beans with XO sauce. The flaming hot Jiaozi's didn't have much flavor other than being hot for the sake of being hot and the shrimp steamed Jiaozi were so so. We also ordered Thai tea and shrimp fried rice which were fine but both lacked flavor. With that said, the beef with mushroom and beans with XO were so tasty we will go back to this place just for those dishes, super tasty and worth the trip.

Today, my husband and I tried out a dumpling spot called JA Jiaozi Authentic ?. Here’s our honest take on the experience:
We ordered: Grilled Angus Beef Skewers ?, Hot and Sour Soup ?, Black Pepper Shrimp and Squid Fried Rice ?, Steamed Shrimp Dumplings ?, Steamed Beef and Onion Dumplings ?, and Five-Color Steamed Dumplings ?.
? Hot and Sour Soup
Rating: ?????
The flavor was outstanding! Honestly, while sipping on this soup, I started to wonder if this place was even aimed at a Chinese crowd ?.
? Grilled Angus Beef Skewers
Rating: ???
The quality of the beef was top-notch, but the taste didn’t quite hit the mark. They tried to give it a Chinese BBQ feel with cumin, but it leaned more towards Western BBQ flavors, which just didn’t do it for me.
? Black Pepper Shrimp and Squid Fried Rice
Rating: ?????
This dish might look simple, but it was seriously tasty. Even with my current pregnancy-related lack of appetite, I found it delicious, which says a lot. The flavors were subtle, not greasy, yet very satisfying. Definitely a win.
? Steamed Shrimp Dumplings, Steamed Beef and Onion Dumplings, Five-Color Steamed Dumplings
Rating: ??
To be honest, we came here specifically for the dumplings, but they didn’t live up to expectations. The shrimp dumplings were decent, but the beef and onion and five-color dumplings (which had shrimp, chicken, sole fish, veggies, pork, and celery) were disappointing. The beef and onion dumplings were watery and lacked umami, and the five-color dumplings, aside from the shrimp ones, just didn’t have that umami in Chinese food.

This restaurant is so much better than I expected. Though, not all the foods are good. If you come here you must order the crispy shrimp which is number 32 on the menu at the time I visited. It's freaking amazing. You can't leave this restaurant without trying that dish. I also recommend trying the scallop dumpling and the green beans. The rest are really average in my opinion. Anyway, I would definitely come back here for the shrimp even though I personally hate shrimp and I always avoid eating it but this restaurant completely changed my mind with a new style of cooking shrimp. You can just come here order 1 portion of crispy shrimp, some kind of veggie (green beans with garlic is the best) and a bowl of rice and that would be enough.
Definitely recommend this restaurant!
