Very rude when seating customers. Don’t follow their own policy about whole parties arriving.

The food is really good. Just a heads up for spicy choices - they are HOT! My husband enjoyed all the dishes. We ordered the duck soup, fried rice with vegetables and beef with cilantro - all delicious! Service was courteous and friendly. Very helpful with first timers like us. The ambiance is quiet and relaxing.

Very traditional and delicious Szechuan restaurant. Love the Mapo Tofu and Kung Pao Chicken. Good environment and service.

I had an amazing meal at this Sichuan restaurant! The flavors were bold, authentic, and incredibly satisfying. Every dish had the perfect balance of spice, numbing heat, and rich aroma—exactly what you'd hope for from true Sichuan cuisine.

We haven't visited Kuan Zhai Alley since they opened a few years back, but we're so thankful to have made the return visit. Maybe it was the specific dishes we ordered, but we haven't enjoyed a Chinese meal this memorable in quite some time...and that's saying a lot with all the options in Irvine! The restaurant was packed when we arrived during the dinner hour, but we were seated at one of their few outdoor tables after a short wait.

We started the meal with my daughter's favorite - West Lake Beef Soup. If you like salted egg, then the Crispy Japanese Tofu with Salted Egg Yolk is a must-try. We're also fans of spicy dry pots since they combine multiple items into one dish, so we tried the Fatty Beef version which included thinly sliced beef brisket, onion, potato, and lotus root, wok-fried in a Szechuan dry rub seasoning. For a more balanced meal, we added a veggie dish which was their seasonal and one of my faves - Ong Choy. We closed out our dinner meal with the Ice Jelly with Brown Sugar. Every dish was so flavorful and unforgettable...I can't wait for my next visit!

Amazing Sichuan food at Kuan Zhai Alley! The Mao Xue Wang was rich, spicy, and full of flavor — one of the best I’ve had. Great atmosphere with traditional decor and friendly service. Highly recommend for anyone craving authentic Chinese spice!

I nearly ate this. They said it was an accident. Bro how do you leave this in? They said be careful when you eat this. Like what? How are we suppose to know this is in there? They blamed us for it!😡😡😡
