This has been the best gluten-free restaurant I’ve ever been to if I could give it more stars I would it is a 10 out of 10 if you have celiac completely and totally recommend. Chefs kiss
Beautiful and lovely when we walked in. Great atmosphere, we just wished the food was just as delightful. I did mention the soggy tasteless crêpes in a nice way-interesting enough, no response from the waitress. Too embarrassing for my daughter-to actually complain. We left a lot of food on our plates, so we thought that would be enough of a hint. We also bought flour. 90+for the bill. It took so long to get there, so disappointing and so expensive. My daughter needed something gluten-free. Just flew in from Portland. I’ll go back to Free Soul in Tustin. Same amount of money, but food is excellent.
My daughter discovered Maldon’s a couple of months ago and loved it. Today it was her restaurant of choice for her birthday (four family members are gluten sensitive).
I can’t say enough good things about this place! We had the French onion soup, BLT, hamburger, Eggs Benedict, vegetable medley sandwich, Popovers and Cinnamon Rolls and wine. Everyone was exchanging bites with each other because it was all so good. It was so wonderful to be in an environment where I didn’t have to grill the staff on what was truly gf. The staff was attentive and friendly. Adam who was bartending was very engaging and sent over tastes of different drinks he was making. He’s the nephew of the owner and a fountain of information. He told us they have an exclusive proprietary flour that they use. Overall the service was not particularly fast; but it was Saturday and we were there to enjoy ourselves. The singing guitarist added to the charming ambiance.
I was hoping to try their chocolate chip cookies, but they were out. Guess I’ll have to come back again and again until I’ve tried everything!
Gluten free menu with many options! French toast was so good! Their gluten free sourdough was great as well, I'll be back for a loaf of that . They have a bakery ordering options to pick up items like sourdough, English muffins, cinnamon buns, and pizza dough. I will be back for that option for sure. Pretty atmosphere inside. Good service , gave great recommendations.
My fiance and I were excited to come and try the cinnamon roll. I’m gluten free and haven’t had one in a while. We are on tight budgets as new teachers and wanted to splurge on a breakfast out.
When we arrived we ordered the cinnamon roll. Our server came back five minutes later and we ordered the burger to share and an iced vanilla latte. I was told you didn’t have vanilla, totally cool, I’ll get caramel. It was then brought hot :(. Our server never came back for me to tell him. I told the man who brought our burger out if he could ask our server for it to be iced.
Then we noticed our burger didn’t have onion strings like the menu said. After a few minutes our server came back and we asked. He went to the kitchen and told us that the restaurant was out but he could get us grilled or raw. We were okay. We ordered the burger for the onion strings :( the fries killed though.
When the same kitchen guy came out with our cinnamon roll we asked about the coffee again. He was surprised and said he’d let our server know again and he was busy.
Our server came back and tried to sway us away from getting the coffee but I wanted it. He then said you made vanilla so I could have that now. We asked for it to go though since we were done eating and for the check. I got my iced coffee in a few minutes (lavender flavored I swear) and after ten minutes of asking for the check we got it with, and I quote, “one of the coffees taken off.” I only ordered the one iced :(
Also there was a cockroach above my head while eating.
I’m just so disappointed in our experience and service especially since we don’t really have the budget to do breakfasts/lunch like this often. Also as someone who has a bunch of gluten free family members I thought I would have a new place to recommend. :(
I also tried to email the restaurant previously and didn’t ever hear back
Great atmosphere. Went for lunch and staff did not seem to be very professional or experienced. Food was disappointing. I had the pear and gorgonzola butter lettuce salad with chicken. The chicken was re-heated prior to serving, not freshly grilled. The salad is a full head of butter lettuce in a bowl with chicken, quinoa and a heavy dressing on top. It’s an interesting presentation, but impossible to eat without the salad going everywhere. Disappointing for such a nicely decorated restaurant and prime office location.
I had such an amazing experience this morning, the food was amazing, the matcha latte was really good and the staff was so kind and friendly. Everything is gluten free which is a huge plus for me, i will definitely be back soon with some friends.

Wow!!! Absolutely amazing gem of a place! So glad we found it! Great vibe. So much attention to detail, lovely friendly people, family owned …and the food… THE BEST! So nice and refreshing to find a gluten free place with good ingredients without sacrificing taste! Brought me back to the days when I could eat gluten. So tasty and you can order anything on the menu with no fear! Will definitely be back!

my husband and I are visiting Southern California and we saw Maldon’s Bistro on the “Find Me GF” app. he has celiac and i eat only gluten free with him, so we are always on the hunt for a tasty gluten free spot. first, we were beyond excited to be visiting a Christian owned business, may God bless this restaurant abundantly!! we were so impressed with the beautiful aesthetic of this French bistro with absolutely such sweet and genuine staff. we came here twice during our stay, and some highlights I could recommend is an ice lavender latte, the French onion soup, the OC omelette, the Nutella crêpe, and most definitely the cinnamon roll! The pastry chef is so talented! we would recommend anyone who has gluten-free dietary restrictions or anyone who wants a fine dining experience in a French/American bistro with friendly staff and amazing food!

The coffee was very weak. The bathroom ( even though it was share by other facilities) was dirty, no toilet paper ( it was 11 am an hour from opening)
