I was at first hesitant to try this spot cause the menu was pretty limited and my family can't always agree on what to order when there's a small menu, but I'm glad I did! Everything I got from here was tasty and the girl helping us was friendly. I got the hotpot for two, the durian pizza, the eel pizza and mochi egg puff. Since it was my first time trying the spot, I got a 0.5 spice level and tried their signature broth. At 0.5, it was still plenty flavorful and considering that my family all likes different spice levels, this worked for us so that we could add our own hot sauce. It came with a nice selection as well: imitation crab, spam, mushroom, fungus, cabbage, daikon, beef, quail egg, bean sprouts, tripe, etc. The only thing that would've made it better is if it came with rice or noodles, like Boiling Point does, rather than having those as ad ons. In terms of the pizzas, we were pleasantly surprised! The durian pizza was slightly creamy and cheesy with a refreshing pop of fruit, while the eel pizza reminded me of takoyaki since it came topped with bonito flakes. The egg puff was as expected, chewy and slightly sweet. Everything all together was about $68, which is decent for hotpot.

This place does great mala hot pot, great flavor and portions. There is a mix of ingredients in the pot and when they say pot for two, it's a two person portion that they split into two take out containers so there isn't an even number of items in each container. You'll have to put it into a communal bowl or figure out how to move ingredients to split it up evenly. But definitely great flavor and worth a try.

The most Authentic Shezchuan style Hot pot in Irvine. Great taste and definitely on the spicy side. HK Egg Puffs are a nice dessert.

Tried their durian pizza and "2 person combo hot pot+lamb+rice cake" today. I have to say the food was amazing. First, I have to confess that I doubted the taste when I was calling them to order. I used to believe a restaurant should concentrate on making one style of food, for example, a hotpot restaurant, or a pizzeria. But, Peng Huo offers both hot pot and pizza, so I thought I want to give it a try and had low expectations on both. However, when I got the dishes, I was surprised by the tastes of both the hot pot and the pizza. There were two big bowls for the hot pot, I would say they were quite enough for 2-3 people. The hot pot was yummy and spicy. And for the pizza, it was creamy and sweet, hot served with the smell of durian. This restaurant deserves a five-star. I will definitely come back! Highly recommend!

I was recommended Peng Huo by the ladies at Ebenizer Facial (located above the restaurant) and was blown away by the flavor and spiciness of the food. It was authentic and had the right amount of spice. I ordered takeout for two people’s portion and added extra beef slices and rice cake. The portion was huge and I had leftovers for the next day. Service is fast and I only had to wait around 10-15 minutes to get my order. If you’re looking for authentic Chinese mala hotpot, you won’t be disappointed!

Very tasty both, all ingredients were fresh. You have to order online and pick up at the entrance. I would definitely order from here again.

ordered two veggie dishes today. Taste really good, better than any restaurant that I tried in LA. Price is fair, must try taste. Waiting time is around 15min.
