a pleasant surprise: probably my only not-overrated Asian/Chinese restaurant in Irvine.

I’m really glad we found this place, and it’s highly recommended if you are slightly adventurous and trying out some ethnic Chinese flavors.

Everything we ordered was excellent. We knew the crispy lamb buns (aka Chinese Burger) was going to be good, but not sure about the $20 fried pork which was #1 chef recommendations, it turned out to be delightful.

The lamb soup came out first, it was tasty and refreshing, Liang pi was cool, you don’t get it in many places. String beans were nicely done, a delicious necessity to balance out the meal.

The first bite of crispy lamb buns was a delightful surprise: crunchy layered thin bread and lamb with slightly cumin, it was an amazing feast.

Fried pork is an even more interesting surprise that I would not spoil. Ha ha. Try it to find out!

Service was fine, we were seats and water was provided quickly. Orders are done by scanning QR code, browsing the online menu, and order directly. I find this efficient but lacking some personal interactions.

We did purposely ordered a lot for the two of us, we obviously didn’t finish. I was surprised the bill wasn’t as much as I expected. We got a lot of leftovers to go and enjoyed rest at home.

Northern Chinese style shredded meat in a crispy flaky bread. So delicious! Prices are very reasonable. Excellent friendly service in either Chinese or English. I have been ordering takeout for months from here and waited to make a review after eating at this restaurant. It is better in person. It's a small space. The restaurant will need to expand when it becomes more popular.

The food was delicious. Service was very quick but not very hospitable. The chili oil on the table was not at all spicy and when I asked if there was anything spicier the waitress said no. I asked really? She said we only have the chili oil. I didn’t believe her at all. Bring your own spice because it’s lacking in the heat department.

The Roujiamo here is amazing — the bread is so flaky it practically crumbles, and the pork inside is super juicy and flavorful. Honestly the best Roujiamo I’ve had in SoCal in over ten years! My only gripe is they open a bit late (around 11am), so no chance to grab it for breakfast.

The food here hits home and tastes like a Chinese grandma made it fresh just for you. The liangpi or cold noodles are quite literally some of the best I've ever had. They use extra wide noodles, and mixed with the garlic peanut sauce? 10 out of freaking 10.

And they can take the same extra wide noodles and stir fry into like a chow mein--also delectable.

I'd be lying if I said I wasn't lowkey turned off the first time I heard about spicy beef and “offal”. But don't knock until you try it. It's got that numbing spice which is SO addicting, AND none of that usual gaminess.

And the main event, Chinese hamburger. I got the beef filling that's sandwiched between two of the crunchiest, crispiest buns. No freakin' notes, bomb.

Thanks for reading! ^-^

We’ve been here many times for to-go but today’s order really disappointed us. The cold noddle wasn’t fresh and it tasted weird like expired. Have to warn people who order to-go, be careful about the food quality and make sure to smell it or even taste it before taking them away.

Located in a small strip mall dominated by Chinese business. They specialize in crispy bun burgers. It’s a quick nice light snack - try lamb crispy bun and add some of the hot sauce at the table. Costs about $8 per bun. They also have heavier entrees like what you expect in a Chinese restaurant.
