Very good service. Quick! We tried all you can eat and menu and both were great!
Fresh and tasty sushi love it
Pleasantly surprised by how good the AYCE sushi was. There was a bit of a wait when we arrived right before they opened on a Friday, we added ourselves to the waitlist and it took about 20 minutes to be seated. The sushi and hot foods is of good quality, but there isn’t a lot of variety when it comes to nigiri. Still, it’s a very good option if you want AYCE sushi.
Arrived about 10 min after opening, seated immediately. For some reason not given 1st round of AYCE order for almost 30 min. Service became much faster afterwards, even though restaurant became busier. AYCE definitely worth it compared to ordering specialty rolls individually. Enjoyed the Jeffrey Roll the most
I usually get take out from this place and honestly very affordable for the sushi you are getting. Very tasty too. Also their all you can eat is SO cheap compared to other restaurants.

Went for lunch on New Year's Day. Since it's a holiday the price is for dinner instead of lunch special. Not crowded, but if you happen to be the 6th+ party seated at opening time, expect for a long wait (35mins from time of order) to get your food since the kitchen will be busy preparing the first 5 parties. Drinks were served promptly. Sodas are fountain style with unlimited refills.
Parking: Ample parking, located next to Albertsons.

The best sushi I had in Irvine. No wonder there is always a long wait here.

Upon walking in we were greeted immediately.
Put on a waitlist for about 15mins. Np.
Taken to our table. Nice window seat.
We ordered quite a few things.
And don't get me wrong most of it was good.
But some are SO packed with rice they it should just be called some rice with a small hint of salmon flavor.
Staff seemed decent.... Until later.
Inside was a little dirty tbh...
A staff member me told us "oh if you can't finish that ( 3 rolls left ) we have to charge you full price. I mean I get it..: a business is a business. But 3 rolls? After we just had more than 30 pieces of sushi? I don't find that acceptable. Take the loss and be sure your customers are happy with their experience.
With that said I don't think I'll return.
Even though some of the food was actually pretty good.
Staff: rude
Decor: modern clean
Food: average
Bathrooms: N.A. didn't use them
Would I recommend this place? Sure why not.
Check it out for the all you can eat sushi. But be prepared to finish literally everything or they start to treat you weirdly. Good luck!

I have been going here for years and it has been consistently great for an AYCE sushi option. Whether I am with a large group or just one person the service has always been great. The wait and popularity has really gone up over the years but well deserved.

Tomikawa Sushi Bar & Restaurant’s AYCE sushi experience was a pleasant surprise. Walking in, the cozy and festive decor set the tone for a relaxed meal, and the attentive service added to the experience without being overbearing.
The AYCE menu offered a broad selection, but what stood out most to me was the freshness of the fish. The salmon nigiri, in particular, melted in my mouth, and the tuna nigiri had just the right texture. Their specialty rolls were not only well-prepared but also beautifully plated, making them almost too pretty to eat—almost. I especially enjoyed the baked mussels, which came out hot and flavorful, with a rich, umami-packed glaze that had me going back for seconds.
What I appreciated most about the AYCE option was the freedom to explore a variety of dishes without worrying about portion sizes. It’s clear they focus on quality even with the quantity, which is something many AYCE places struggle to balance. The only downside was that by the end, I wished I had paced myself better because there were still a few dishes I wanted to try but couldn’t fit in.
Tomikawa doesn’t feel like just another AYCE spot; it feels like a place where they genuinely care about their food and the experience of those enjoying it. If you’re in the mood to indulge and love fresh sushi, this is definitely a place worth checking out.

Great food but no clue how to run a restaurant, keeping customers waiting 90 minutes for a table and another 30 minutes for food is no way to run a business. This should be just a kitchen for take out.

The sushi is fresh and tasty. For $30 ayce sushi you can’t beat the food quality, service, cleanliness, and atmosphere here. My family likes going here as soon as they open to beat the wait.
