Great restaurant in Julian. Train circles around the restaurant. The antiques gives this place a nostalgic feeling. Has a cave full of candy where you can pick what you want and your waiting will charge it to your bill. Kids loved it!

My experience here was awful. Starting with the food, I ordered a sandwich and asked for gluten-free bread due to preference. First, it was a $4 upcharge (this is common for fancy restaurants, therefore I was shocked at how overpriced it was at a diner). Then when I received the food, my sandwich was half the size of my friend's sandwich who ordered with regular bread, yet I still had to pay full price AND a $4 upcharge on top of that for less food? Ridiculous. Onto the atmosphere, after our 45 min wait, I was originally seated in an area where there were almost 20 kids running around and screaming. We had to move tables to the other side of the restaurant where someone was watching the football game full blast on their phone. Horrifying dining experience, and the servers lacked the communication skills to say something. The service was fine, but seemed like we were being rushed out due to the waitlist. Never coming back.

Loved the nostalgic design — vintage décor, an original soda fountain, and even a little train running through the diner. The food was delicious and the service was great. We came in about 20 minutes before closing, but no one rushed us. Definitely a great place!

I was expecting a lot from this restaurant for breakfast.. I was very disappointed.. they served hash browns frozen style just like McDonald’s.. the pancakes tasted of a low quality batter.. very disappointed..

Pamela our server is THE best. Very nice, attentive and friendly. We ordered onion rings for the table. Very good. Crisp and flavorful. I ordered Miners burger. It had all the fixins- . Sadly it c was tasteless. The patty had zero flavor. They ought to add a little salt, seasoning salt as a patty needs help.

Great fun family experience. Good burgers, starters, milkshakes and even a little candy shop. The inside of the restaurant is very cool and full of character lots of retro like decoration. Staff very friendly and hospitable great service definitely recommend when I got this Bam👍

I love the ambience here! Very rustic. Ordered the tri tip dip and it is possibly the best dip sandwich I ever had! I contemplated getting a second one but remembered I still needed to get some pie. Pace yourself. Also, don’t forget to check out the vintage candy store. Pretty awesome down there.
