Such a lovely spot in Julian. As far as I know, it’s the only Italian restaurant in town, which already makes it special for a small city like this.
The food was really good. The menu is interesting and offers a nice variety. Don’t expect handmade pasta, but the sauces and overall flavors are very solid and satisfying.
The service was amazing — friendly, attentive, and welcoming. The local atmosphere is very cute and cozy, which makes the whole experience even better.
I truly love this place and would definitely come back.

Very nice, cozy restaurant with an awesome italian menu. I went there on Christmas Eve last year and had the best time in a warm environment while it was very cold outside. There were several families having a great time, and did I mention that the food was superb?

We loved it here! We were able to get a table even though they were busy the server and cashier were all super friendly. The food was absolutely delicious! We had a pizza and the cheese ravioli and the soup of the day, everything you could feel it was handmade and it had that home flavor and warmth. Absolutely recommend, be mindful it is a small space though.

We have been going to Romano's for over 40 years. It is the best Italian food in the mountains. You will not be disappointed.

The wait was unnecessarily long, only for the food to be average Italian. Though it was partly burnt, the garlic bread was the best part of the experience. Speaking of experience, the presentation of the pasta was sloppy and unappealing. Server was nice. The restaurant rating was misleading for an overall purely average dining experience.

Service was fine and the restaurant has a nice cozy feel to it but I was honestly shocked and appalled by the quality and portions of the food. I believe it was around $35+ for what I would call a child’s size portion of the blandest most godawful chicken fettuccine Alfredo I have ever been unfortunate enough to choke down. I ate about 2/3 of that tiny portion simply out of respect for my friends who were treating but it really was truly flavorless. Fettuccine Alfredo is the easiest pasta dish to make on earth so how you mess something so simple up so bad is truly puzzling to me. But the worst part was having to let down my friends who were paying for it cause they think this place is great and they really wanted my opinion on it since I’m Siciliano so I had to be the one to break it to them that it’s terrible and that made me feel bad. So thanks for putting me in that awkward situation Romano’s…I truly appreciate it.

Best caesar salad i’ve ever had!! The lovely waitress said the dressing is their own recipe. I also loved how the atmosphere felt like setting the table at home. There was a lot of homey decor like lamps and tables in there that made it feel so special. The music playing softly in the background was so lovely too!! Super sweet experience.

Pleasant and quiet place to eat. Our waiter was a kind well spoken young man. Our dinner came out to us just perfect.

Wow this is the best authentic Italian food we have ever had. We got the mussels for appetizer. The lasagna and the pork chops. Everything was delicious. Worth the wait.
