We fell in love with château Saint Jean on our first visit there in 2016. From that point forward, we have been wine club members since Foley family wines purchased château Saint Jean a couple years ago. Things have really changed. Because of that, and other life circumstances, we have been for months now unsuccessfull in trying to cancel our membership with them. It’s literally like I’m living in a sitcom where this business just absolutely refuses to cancel my membership. Every time I call, I get the same person that answers and she says all I can do is send an email to the next level up. From that point, I never hear anything else. This lady that answers the phone claims that there’s no one else I can talk to about this. If I ran my business, that way, I would lose all my clients. It’s a shame, and we miss the old château Saint Jean owners. And now our advice is to avoid this winery and especially avoid the wine club.

The wines tasted and charcuterie board were quite good. The server really rushed things, which was annoying. She once reached for my not empty glass to dump because she was ready for the next pour and assumed I didn’t want the rest. She stacked my plate onto the last of the bread without asking if we were through (we were not). Both times I had to ask her to please wait. It was as if the idea was to get us in and out quickly. For the price we paid, out of common courtesy, and even since there were very few people there, this shouldn't have happened.

First off, the wine was amazing. It was the best option for a first stop because we were able to join the connoisseur club where we have access to 14 or so Vineyards and free wine tastings with our membership. That helped us plan the rest of our adventure.Shannon... We just can't say enough about her. She guided us through the menu, flavor profiles, and gave us insights about the other brands and Vineyards. We hope she comes to visit soon in Austin!

I was a member of Chateau St. Jeans wine club for two years and would pick up on site twice a year. In the food and wine sector I rate three things. The view/environment 5 starsQuality of product 0 stars. Who would buy an over priced product of low quality.Quality of service 0 stars. Intermittently friendly but slow service. Lack of product knowledge. Overall feel of not wanting to be there.Overall 1.75/5

Sometimes you need to have a bad experience in order to appreciate the good ones. Unfortunately this was a costly and bad experience in both time and money.I agree with the reviewers who called this place snooty, pretentious, and not at all attentive. I really try not to give bad reviews but I feel that this place needs a wake up call.First off, the price for the basic tasting was over $50. This included 5 wines. The samples were minuscule. I could hardly even get a taste for each. The biggest problem however was the lack of attention from our server. With no exaggeration we waited more than 10 minutes between samples. I had to get up to ask them to bring out our last two glasses at the same time. The worst part about all of it is that there was hardly anybody in the place. I have no idea what they were doing but they were certainly not focused on their customers. The place is beautiful. But that's it. I recommend that you drive up, take a look around, and then leave. There are so many great vineyards. No reason to waste your money here.

Never again. I’m a local and over the last few years have been here 3 times. Always a struggle to have good service here. Today was the straw that broke the camels back. Website says no appointments necessary for less than 6. We were a group of 4 who were told we needed reservations. It was not busy and the person behind the bar was rude in terms of the fact we didn’t have a reservation. I simply cannot recommend this winery as pretty as it is. We went on to Kunde, VJB, and Wellington with no issues!!

Went here for wine tasting. Did not enjoy the experience at all. Overpriced pretentious snobby are a few words I’d use to describe the place. Not welcoming or friendly at all. All about sales with 0/10 for customer service. Big waste of time and money.

0/10! Our wine-tasting experience fell far short of our expectations. We were eager to enjoy an informative and enjoyable tasting, but unfortunately, our visit left us disappointed. The service was lackluster, and our waiter appeared disinterested in providing the level of engagement we anticipated. They merely poured the wine, briefly mentioning its name, and promptly departed, leaving no room for any discussion or questions about the wines. This resulted in us leaving without any knowledge about the wines, not even basic details like the grape variety. When one invests both time and money into a wine-tasting experience at a beautiful establishment, the expectation is to be treated as a valued guest. Regrettably, this did not happen in our case. Our day was marred by the disappointing lack of engagement and information, leaving us with an overall negative impression. To make matters worse, we were asked to leave after just 30 MINUTES, despite having paid for a 90-minute tasting session, citing the need to free the table for other guests. Complimentary appetizers, a common feature in other Napa Valley wine shops, were also absent (I visited at least 4 other wineries here). Additionally, we were served multiple wines IN THE SAME GLASS.We couldn't fully immerse ourselves in the atmosphere despite the beautiful surroundings. Given our experience, I cannot recommend this place. Napa Valley offers numerous alternatives where you can not only enjoy stunning views and exceptional wines but also receive a warm welcome and gain valuable insights about the wines you taste. It's best to explore these options and make the most of your time and money.
