Excellent wine and food pairing. Chef Oscar made some interesting, different pairings and everything was a flavor bomb in your mouth. Totally enjoyable!

The experience at Mayo is one of the best in Wine Country. Incredible ambience, value and hospitality. The chef curates seasonally menus matched with the wines of Mayo. Each course is explained in great detail and why it works so well with the paired wines. We have been coming for a few years now and always look forward to our return. Well done.

Warm, welcoming and uniquely delicious pairing experience! I have experienced their wine pairings several times and never disappointed. The wines wonderful and spot on with paired dishes. I've also been to many winery pairings and this is my favorite one. They are creative and diverse (aka not typical cheese and Euro-centric focused...those are great too but to pair wines with world cuisine is hard to come by). Our pairing was a Japanese inspired one. Such attentive and personal hosts and quaint setting endorses the “(not so) hidden gem” cliche. Chef Oscar is a new chef to Mayo and clearly a top chef with years of culinary expertise. I look forward to returning to see his creative mojo shine! We enjoyed the personal conversations and service. We are passionate about food and wine, kinda local (Sonoma and Davis) ...must I convince you more?!

Exceptional Pairing Experience!!! Chef Oscar showcased remarkable skill at Mayo Winery, presenting a series of light pairings that complemented the seven reserve wines with finesse. His dishes were refined, beautifully composed, and perfectly aligned with the flavor profiles of each wine. The progression felt seamless and expertly curated, my favorite dish being the miso salad...to die for!! This was a standout culinary experience that elevated the entire tasting. The Mayo Family winery Reserve Room recently hired a new chef to develop and prepare food that perfectly pair with its featured wines. Chef Oscar created a Japanese menu that is delicious and truly enhanced the 7 chosen wines. You owe it to yourself to either return or to make your first reservation for this outstanding Sonoma Wine Country experience.

We had such a memorable experience at the Reserve Room at Mayo Family Winery, honestly one of our best visits yet, and we've been several times. The highlight this time was definitely the food. There's a new chef, Oscar, and he is fantastic. Every dish felt thoughtful, beautifully executed, and perfectly balanced with the wines. You can really tell there's a fresh energy in the kitchen. The pairing was exceptional, easily the best we've had here. Each course elevated the wine in a way that made the whole experience feel cohesive and elevated, without ever being too heavy or overdone. We've always loved Mayo, but this visit stood out. Between the upgraded food program and the consistently great wines, it felt like a true step up. We ended up buying wine before leaving, which says it all. Can't wait to come back.

7 courses with a wine pairing for each. Exceptional food beautifully paired with a nice variety of wines. The staff were very knowledgeable and explained all the wines in detail. The chef also came and explained each pairing. Can't recommend highly enough.

Loved this experience! Although the Mayo Family Reserve room is fairly non-descriptive, the experience of the food pairing and the wonderful wine along, with great service was memorable. They change out the food pairings and try to focus on a specific ethnicity or area in their pairings, but also very focused on the wine being complimented by the food. The current theme was Mexican culture. The experience included 7 wine tastings and every pairing of food was delicious and different. Chef John was engaged in our tastings and our server, Sara, was very attentive and knowledgeable. We highly recommend this experience and will definitely be back if we're in the area.
