They serve good food very fast. The only issue I see is that the space inside the store is very limited and difficult to walk.
This is a Mexican grocery store. I was told that they have a great meat market. It is great if you are preparing tacos or other Mexican food. The meat names are in Spanish. Well, the short ribs are super good. I would buy three times more than what I did. Lots of spices and seasoning available.
For the carnitas and tacos
Just ok at best.
The Carnitas Combo and the Super Amercano is what we ordered. The meat and the guacamole were sour/tangy tasting and very salty. The meat tasted like it was left in a refrigerator for a few days uncovered and absorbed the other foods into its meat. I ate a few bites until i couldn't anymore because we were so hungry. My tongue felt like it was burning. I was disappointed because the pictures look so yummy and the place has 4.5 stars. Dang it! I really wanted to love this place. We're here in Kings Beach on a mini getaway and wanted to have good food. Bleh.
Authentic and a classic off the beaten path place for takeout Mexican. Had a couple of combo's-- the carnitas and the chile relleno. They were good and the steady stream of people picking up takeout was a sign of their popularity. Workers in pickups after a long day left with a smile. If we lived nearby we'd be regulars. This is not fancy and will disappoint those expecting more, but for quick and easy takeout Mexican it is a good option.
Keep in mind you're at Tahoe, right? Mahalo.
Small store, but surprisingly full of good stuff, meet ready to throw on the grill and everything else to get the carne asada going.
It wasn’t too busy when we arrived, but it got packed quickly. You order outside, and there’s outdoor seating available. We tried the cabeza, lengua, and al pastor tacos. While they had a decent amount of meat, they were lacking in flavor. Definitely not the most authentic tacos. Also, they’re very stingy with the salsas only giving two small ones, and you get charged for extras. Overall, the tacos were okay and will do the job if you’re in the area, but nothing special.
Good place to eat if you are hungry Serca del lago good option for Mexican food
Great food! Big portions at affordable prices!
One of the best Mexican places I’ve had. The food joint is attached at the front of a tiny market. Believe me when I say tiny! If you’re claustrophobic be warned this market is not for you. I’ve been coming here for a long time now and it’s been great watching them grow like they have. I don’t live in the area anymore but anytime I visit this is a must stop for me and whoever I’m with. I’ve introduced countless people to this establishment and they’ve become regulars.
Parking can be tight at times but there’s a spare parking lot before the market. Heads up it’s on a one way street so if you miss the spare lot or market you’ll have to drive around.
I got the chimichanga with shredded beef. I don’t get chimichangas anywhere but here. They seem to get it right every time. It’s super hot, sometimes spicy too. I love hearing the crunch of the deep fried tortilla before it gets soggy from the salsa I add. The shredded beff is super good too and blends well with everything. It’s topped with sour cream, and I’ll sometime order guac on it too. With a side drink of either horchata, jarrito, or a Mexican coke im in heaven. Haha. I’ve tried other items on the menu and they’re all good but this is my first official review of them. You can’t go wrong. The customer service is on point too. Nothing to brag about but that’s also a good thing haha. Hope you try them out, ENJOY!!

La Mexicana they make the best carne asada burritos and the best street taco's in North Lake Tahoe.?? Plus you can do little bit of shopping like getting milk or some eggs and vegetables and can't forget butter and cheese when you are running low on foods.
