So glad I tried this place! Best Omakase in the area. There were three tiers depending on how much you want: Standard ($55), Premium ($70), and Luxury ($95). I got the Luxury and it was awesome:
Miso soup
Chawanmushi egg custard
Salad
Sashimi platter of 4 fish
Ankimo Monk fish liver
Japanese Abalone with liver sauce
Seared Black cod
Madai Sea Bream
Bafun Japanese Uni
Fried Amadai Tilefish
Bluefin Tuna
Kinmedai Golden Eye Snapper
Shima Aji Striped Jack
Nodoguro Blackthroat Sea Perch
Seared Mentaiko Japanese scallop
Toro Tuna belly
Wagyu
Hokkaido Scallop Nigiri
Kumamoto oyster
Snow crab with Bafun Uni and Osetra caviar
Kanpachi Amberjack
Cooked Miso black cod
Awaebi seared blue shrimp Nigiri
Negitoro roll
Tempura
Clam soup
Dessert - Lychee or Yuzu ice cream

Was so full I had to take the Tempura and clam soup to go. They also have a $2 Kirin draft special with dine-in. Will def be back!

This place was one of my kids favorite place.
I ordered Luxury Omakases.
1. IT WAS NOT *16 PIECE SUSHI*.
2. Less rice.
3. Each sushi took so long to be served.
I understand the list of omakase would be changed every time. But I felt like they did not have enough sushi to serve.
We will not go back.
*The servers are so nice tho.

Came here for chirashi lunch one time and thought it was solid, so I came back a few weeks later for Omakase. It was amazing! The fish quality, but also presentation and delicate flavoring, was sooooo good. Highly highly recommend.

Its a Korean owned sushi spot. Fish quality is really nice for the price. We've done the omakase special which features a variety of exotic fish and we've just ordered what we like previously. Definitely one of the better priced and quality sushi spots in the area. Aesthetics are nice and the staff are really friendly.

The worst sushi ever. Chinese sushi chef. The service is ok. Food is very disgusted. Ankimo socked with soy sauce. It is very salty.

Every time we come here it is amazing. The food and the service is always low key but attentive. They have excellent sushi rolls and sashimi is ?. The Toro tartare is my fav while my wife loves the halibut carpacio (to start.) The owner and staff are wonderful. This time I ordered the fresh sweet shrimp and the waitress gave me the great tip to eat the head in addition to the tail. Blew my mind, so good!!!We will continue to come here as long as possible! This is our new go-to sushi place.

I went there because the local sushi bar was closed, but maybe I had too high expectations.
There is no smile on the server's face and there is no service.
There is only serving. Omakaze sushi was delicious but expensive.
The other cut rolls weren't that great. The sushi bar chef is only focused on making things.
There is no communication with customers. This is my first time at a sushi bar like this. Everyone has expressionless expressions.
It is clear that the owner is not Japanese. The staff training is really disappointing.
I don't know if he's the owner or the manager, but wearing a baseball cap while helping the server is unprofessional and really unsightly.

Just got done eating a few salmon hand rolls and a spicey tuna roll. By far the best salmon and spicey tuna I have had from a sushi spot local to where I live! No longer have to drive out to LA for fresh tasting sushi. Also need to mention how clean this place was and how quick and hard working everyone was here! 1st timer and I'm so glad I came to eat here. The best sushi in la habra in my opinion.

Good sushi spot and prices reasonably for what they are serving. My only gripe is that they seem to really like using the pre-chopped wasabi which ends up adding way too much salt even without soy sauce. If they are going to be using that they might as well use the fake wasabi instead and would be cheaper for them too. The chopped wasabi they are using is good meats other than fish. Takes away from the subtle flavors of fish the fish.

A really good spot for sashimi, nigiri and all things sushi! Great interior! Love the atmosphere they’ve created. Chefs, waitresses and host are friendly. As for the menu I do find that the fish quality tend to be better on the weekdays, but do consider that I’ve only been here a few times. I will say the quality is still exceptional even if you visit later into the weekends. Overall, it’s a nice little spot for sushi with a calm and laidback vibe to enjoy sushi.

Pretty good spot for reasonably priced omakase! I think the omakase special was $50 that’s 8 nigiris and a hand roll which in todays world isn’t really that bad. And for the quality, I’d even dare say this is on the cheaper end of sushi but good.I did some research before going to La Habra since I couldn’t find much to eat but Akafujis sushi looked fresh and quality. Nigiris were all fresh and nicely seasoned with garnish/sauce, blue crab hand roll was also packed with blue crab, friends salmon truffle roll was a+ and the fried calamari was also a banger.Overall, I’d def return and recommend it to my friends. Some of the reviews seem like they’re derived from unreasonable expectations and even then, I thought this was a solid spot for the price. It would be nice if they had an appetizer included in the omakase special but oh well. The server wasn’t the friendliest but I honestly don’t really care as long as he is able to service our table promptly and professionally which he did. Also it was kinda nice to sit outside to eat too and todays weather was perfect.

They were very nice, but the food just wasn't that good. Very sweet.

I recently visited Akafuji and while the service and ambiance were superb, I have to say that the food was a bit pricey. The staff was exceedingly polite and attentive to our every need, and the ambiance of the restaurant was great - it really had a nice vibe to it. However, when it came to the sushi itself, I was a bit disappointed. While it was definitely fresh, it lacked flavor and didn't quite hit the spot for me. Although the food looked good, I started feeling sick after eating it. I'm not sure if it was a combination of ingredients or something else, but I definitely felt nauseous. Overall, I'd give Akafuji a 3 out of 5 stars - great service and ambiance, but the food could use some improvement.
