Servers/cashier were unpleasant and rude. The açaí bowl was really good but the breakfast burrito was so greasy that it was wet and the plate was soaked. The avocado toast tasted sour, I’m not sure what would cause this. The coffees made with almond milk separated quickly so we didn’t drink them.

Really cute place with great coffee. Only complaint is that the music is really loud especially outside and it’s not good music it’s like hip hop which seems random for the vibe lol

Wonderful little breakfast spot! Great location and delicious food! The little potato patty tasted a bit fishy. Everything else was perfection!

I was waiting for an online pick up and they said they would make the drink and they completely forgot about me

Extremely rude people, unfortunately because the food is great. I wanted to confirm that the drink sitting there was mine because had no ticket on it, and the guy I asked said: I don’t know I didn’t make your drink and didn’t even care to ask anyone around about it, same guy (the food runner) that rolled his eyes when my friend asked for an extra plate!
If you don’t want to work, just don’t. I won’t go back to this place because of the customer service. The only nice person was the girl taking orders.

Extremely Rude Service - Will Not Return
I visited this morning, July 26th, at approximately 9:30 AM, hoping for a pleasant start to my day. Unfortunately, my experience was incredibly disappointing due to the exceptionally poor service.
The girl making the coffee was extremely rude when I politely informed her that my order was not as expected. Instead of offering an apology or a solution, she immediately blamed the cashier, stating they were new and didn't know the establishment didn't offer non-fat milk or vanilla pumps. This lack of accountability and the dismissive attitude were shocking.
I have never been treated so poorly in La Jolla. While the food in the display looked appealing, the way I was spoken to completely overshadowed any positive aspects. Because of this unacceptable treatment, I will not be returning to this establishment

Super cute summery café with delicious brunch options. Their strawberry matcha was absolutely incredible, and I also enjoyed the lavender iced latte. I had their blue whale brekky; sourdough bread was perfectly crispy but unfortunately the eggs were too well done and quite dry. The ube pancakes were moist and flavorful with fresh blueberries- absolutely recommend. You order at the counter but they have some nice seats outside. On the pricey side but worth it. Would come again!

My boyfriend and I were excited to try this place, but the service left us feeling uncomfortable and disrespected.
When we walked in the staff member at the counter didn’t greet us. She just stared silently and looked unhappy to be there, but that’s okay really. I said hi, but still got no response, which was awkward. I ordered my dish, and while my boyfriend was mid-sentence giving his order, she interrupted him, handed him a table number without explanation, and said “here take this.”
We tried to add drinks but before we could, she turned around to chat with her coworker and ignored us completely. I said “excuse me” twice & no response. So we didn’t add drinks we just paid which was ridiculous. I decided I’d walk back up & let her know that we didn’t appreciate how dismissive and rude the service was, she just said “uh okay” & rolled her eyes. No apology. Not surprised. I phrased it in a kind way because we all have bad days, but customers and people in general don’t deserve that.
As customers, we don’t expect over the top friendliness, but basic courtesy is the bare minimum. Hoping the management sees this and addresses the service since no one should feel like a burden just for placing an order.
Needless to say we won’t be back. The food was good but not worth that experience. I recommend The Cottage.

Got an iced coffee. Good and refreshing. Took 10 minutes to have the drink prepared though. No food was ordered.
