“I recently visited Coco Maya from out of state. I have to say the service and food I received was absolutely amazing. The staff was very friendly and even the Manager stopped by my table to say HI and make sure all my needs were met. I would highly recommend this place. I have been raving to all my friends about how great the food and service were. If I ever come back to San Diego I will definitely be eating here again.“

“Since 2009, my wife and I have been regular visitors to Tropical Star, a Caribbean and Latin restaurant that also serves as a market. From our very first visit, we were impressed by the warm and welcoming atmosphere. The staff greeted us with genuine smiles, and their courteous and respectful demeanor made us feel right at home. Each dining experience has been a delight, as they consistently provide excellent service. The food is not only delicious, but it also authentically showcases vibrant flavors and traditional recipes that transport you straight to the heart of Caribbean and Latin cuisine. Whether it's the tantalizing spices or the fresh ingredients, every dish reflects the rich culinary heritage that Tropical Star proudly represents. Although I am moving to Maryland, Tropical Star will always be our first stop for a meal whenever we return to town.

“My wife is half Cuban on her mother side, and I can attest that this spot is the real deal. Not only is the ropa vieja was perfect! The Yuca fries were awesome, the empanadas were fantastic, and the black beans paired with everything. The rice was warm and buttery, and the service was so fast I was shocked the food was ready. Those place is a gem that you can’t miss if you enjoy Cuban food and atmosphere! My wife is a vegetarian and she got the veggie empanadas, and it was her favorite.“
