Le Macaron in La Jolla might get a bit of flak for being pricey and sure, you could buy a dozen grocery store cookies for the same price as one macaron here… but you’re also in La Jolla. The staff are extremely nice and friendly. The macarons are colorful but not top quality--lumpy and gritty. I'm not sure if they are using lower quality ingredients or taking shortcuts on the baking. Too bad! We did not try the chocolates or the ice cream.
The family was wanting a sweet treat after spending the afternoon at La Jolla coves and this shop fit the bill. Lots of macaron options but I enjoyed the Gelato. Would have loved to try the pastry options. Definitely a great find and will keep this spot on our list next time we’re in the area.
