Butter roll perfection warm, soft, and buttery enough to make you question every other sandwich you’ve ever had. The lobster? Fresh, sweet. I did try adding extra lobster, but honestly, it didn’t change my life enough to justify the price save that cash for dessert or another roll.

The place is tiny, with just a few outdoor tables, but you’re surrounded by adorable little shops, so it’s basically like eating luxury seafood in a postcard. The vibe is super chill and informal the kind of place where you can wear flip flops, sip your drink, and watch people browse stuff they don’t need.

Easily one of the best lobster rolls I’ve ever had.

Was so good the first time that after a walk we came back to grab another bite. After that bite we wanted to try a soup and to our surprise it was ON THE HOUSE. The service was amazing and the portions are super GENEROUS this place is great and I would definitely recommend to anyone stopping by. Absolutely love lobster west

As someone born on the East Coast, I'm always skeptical of West Coast spots claiming to serve real Maine lobster rolls. But Lobster West delivered! From the perfectly toasted and buttered roll to the generous chunks of lobster meat, everything hit the mark. The light seasoning on top sealed the deal — chef’s kiss. If you're craving an authentic lobster roll outside of New England, this is the place!

Lobster roll was delicious! Make sure to ask for the meat warmed. We did get the boss lobster roll and don’t think we got the value of meat for how much we paid. There wasn’t much lobster inside the sandwich, just on top to make it look like a lot more than it was. However, it was really good anyways especially with the warmed meat. The coleslaw was also a delicious addition!

I’ve gone here multiple times and it’s always been a good experience. It’s expensive but that’s expected for seafood. I did used to live in Connecticut and visited Maine multiple times and this is pretty close to what I had over there. I like to get the boss lobster roll with a little extra meat and the clam chowder.

The lobster is sooooo good here!! However we ate there 2 times and the first time we got waay less lobster in the roll compared to today...then it says the rolls are 23 a piece and $1 for chips but yet they charged me $58...it doesnt add up...i didnt see it until we had left.

As a true Mainer, I would consider their lobster roll equal to any that I have had on the Maine coast. Overflowing with chunks of sweet lobster and a roll grilled just like I would have at home, it lived up to my complete expectations of what I would want to have in Maine! Yum!

Small but comfortable restaurant. I would only the crab and lobster next time. I want to say overpriced but it's lobster after all.

Delicious lobster bun with crispy bun and fresh lobster meat. Would be better with more lobster meat in the bun! Drinks cost extra. With toilet you need to ask for password.

Excellent food and the best waitress / counter person! Sorry for the spelling, but I think her name is Augie from Fallbrook... super nice young woman! The cook was also very cool!

We hit mid afternoon when not ultra busy. Had a lobster roll and soup and enjoyed the fresh La Jolla air and scenery.

Definitely going again, will also hit the Encinitas location as we live in North County...
