Pepino Eatery & Bakeshop is the best new restaurant in town, a gem worth every bite. It offers affordable breakfast and lunch from a chef with a three-star Michelin background. The menu rotates, which keeps it fun and fresh, and there isn’t a bad thing on it. Favorites include the biscuits and gravy, called the greatest iteration of that sloppy diner classic, the Caesar salad, the breakfast sammy, tots, Yucca Fries, and the Pork Belly Sandwich. The food is amazing, thoughtfully curated and prepared, and you can taste the love that goes into each dish.
The atmosphere is as comfortable as it can get. The vibe is relaxed and fun for a group, the family, or solo, energetic enough to keep you going but comfortable enough to get things done. The interior is beautiful, with great tunes. The staff is great, outgoing and kind, and the service is awesome and on point. It is a fantastic spot to grab a bite in the La Jolla area and has earned a permanent spot in many lunch rotations.
