Very disappointed! It's been a while since I've been. It was our 40th wedding anniversary and I put it on our reservation. Waitress said nothing about it, in fact she looked very unhappy. Food was average. Swordfish was a bit overcooked and had no flavor. Wish we would have celebrated somewhere else!

Great lunch last week. Our server, Gabe, was attentive to all of our needs. Food was great as usual!

We really enjoyed The Brigantine. The La Mesa location offers old school steak, seafood & cocktails. We had just that: Martinis, shrimp cocktail, caesar salad, blue cheese wedge and filets. The food was very good, though the steaks were slightly disappointing for $50 a pop. All of the servers and bussers were wonderful, and the refreshed but traditional dining room was delightful. Not quite five stars in our book, but still very good overall. We will likely go back, and recommend The Brigantine to anyone who misses the way California restaurants used to be.

The scallops were great, as well as the macadamia crust halibut, the Cesar Salad delicious too. I recommend this place.

Good food and service. Seafood chowder was very good. Fish well prepared and shrimp was delicious. We sat outside on the patio.. Would eat there again.

Cocktails are way expensive not mention the amount of alcohol in the drinks is too none, or cheap or diluted alcohol.. and that's coming from a person that has low alcohol tolerance and as a social drinker. especially when you're paying $16 smh! The French fries are so bland and never cooked long enough zero intrest. The grilled sword fish tacos are never consistent in portion or in the manner its cooked. None of the servers or bartenders look happy or smile or are friendly no conversing any aspect. We said thank you to our server at least 10 times between the 3 of us she never once said you're welcome! They look unhappy and like they don't wanna be there, which puts you in a mood. We come there to get away to have a good time good food and cocktails and enjoy the company we're with. Not like it used to be many yrs ago. U couldn't get a seat now u can walk in and plenty of seats. Over priced and portions not there and service depressing!!! Time to find a new spot!!

Our entire office went there for our Christmas dinner. After waiting for half an hour past our reservation we were seated without an apology. The food was mediocre, the service was ok,then they turned off some of the lights as a hint for us to leave and most of us were not done with our dinner. Most of those in our party were disgusted by the experience. We will Never go back , overrated for sure .

Service was very good and the waitress was exceptionally helpful, courteous & efficient., Unfortunately I forgot her name, but she was very good.

Our waiter was super nice. They put us into a corner of the restaurant. Space was very tight.

Easter dinner, standard menu. Perfect service. Diana is excellent with timing courses and her suggestion for seabass special was perfect.

Usually they have such good food—I think it was just due to it being a holiday (Easter). Soggy French toast, overly spicy wet potatoes, strange smell emanating from the sea food omelette.
