Best Breakfast Burrito in town in my opinion. The downside is they close early but the food is fantastic and worth parking walking in and ordering. This is the old school taco shop and still one of the best.

This is definitely a hidden gem of La mesa. Breakfast burritos are delicious and not greasy. They are so stingy though on hot sauce. Which doesn’t make sense because if you die there, you get access to the entire bottle. But they do not give more than four tiny hot sauces for 1 burrito. One of the tiny hot sauce containers is enough for two bites of a burrito.

The food was good, and it had better. But it was reasonably priced. I got the mixed burrito with a side of rice. Filled me UP!! Better options out there for sure, however. Maybe not as cheap, though. Definitely best bang for your buck!

Absolutely the best bang for your buck in La Mesa, CA. 10 bucks for a California burrito in one of the most expensive cities in the USA. Sign me up. Even in Oregon burritos are at minimum 12ish dollars now and they are smaller in size. The service was fast and when dining in we got a green and red sauce. Both delicious!Thank you for what you do El Azteca, really appreciate it, especially as a frugal traveler.Parking: Read the signs on the ground. Some of the parking spots are only for 7 eleven and other businesses. Park at your own risk depending on how long you plan on being in the restaurant for.

Carne asada tacos are a must to get, so juicy and flavorfilled. The red salsa was one of the best salsa I've ever had. Prices are fair for tacos. Prices are nore than fair on the sides. For a little under ?5.50, I got a damn near pint of beans and rice.

Love the food, but when they forgot one of our items in a large to-go order I called, left messages, and sent an email in order to get a refund for the missing item. They never responded. No call back. No response from emails. Terrible service when something goes wrong. I’ll update this review if they respond.

Just ordered a breakfast burrito and came home after cutting it in half I noticed a long black strain hair!! Yuck!! ??? won’t be going back! Wear a dam hair net!!!!!

Been living in la Mesa 20 plus years and I can tell you this place has gone way way down hill. Basically not the same place it was food is bad now. This place should close it’s sad now. And way to many Mexican shops in a 3 mile area. If your gonna do it do it right. So far the best Mexican place in all la Mesa is Casa de pico .
