I come here at least once a week-every roll is delicious! The servers are all very friendly and know the menu and food well. The chefs are amazing!

Great doesn't even begin to describe Konnichiwa. I come from a family that has fished in SanDiego for the last 60yrs so I am well aware of quality of seafood. This establishment is the bomb. Chef Juan and his crew prepare your plate with flair and fashion. Quality of food is impeccable. Fresh, fresh, fresh and the service is first rate. Amanda, Ben, German and Julia serve you top rate from the moment you step inside greeting you and making sure the fantastic flavors are to your liking. Carol the owner should be proud to have employees that care about the quality and service they deliver. (No after COVID customer service here) Don't let the size of the building fool you. Small but japanese style seating. Fantastic atmosphere with emoji style comic book flair everywhere. ありがとうございます, Domo arigatou and thank you. Super glad to have met you all and hope to see you in the future when I return to my homeland roots. Ciao.

Upon arrival I was standing at the door expecting to get greeted but instead servers walk right past a few times before saying sit where you Want. Waited for 10 minutes to be seen or more ‘I had to flag somebody down to help us out’. When I finally got someone’s attention the server brought menus to our table without saying anything and walked off. I came with my family & got there at the same time but just before a couple other families (That we’re both greeted before our table.) & when I brought this up a server said ‘I’m sorry there’s just 2 of us.’ But was tending to the other tables with no problem. So needless to say my family and I did not stay to eat. Very disappointed in the service here wouldn’t recommend.

Arrived around 1813. The place practices deceptive pricing. The waiter was very polite and apologized for the wait ( 20+ minutes to get menus) and misunderstanding of the false price and happy hour times ( online 3-7 actually 3-6) advertised online and stated that the owner is aware and months have past without the owner taking action to correct any misunderstanding. So my family and I left and walked down to city tacos across the street instead.

Well I was super excited to try this place with my friend for happy hour....very disappointed. We went there tonight and let me start with the happy hour menu which is NOT what the website's happy hour menu reflects. We thought happy hour ended at 7pm based on the website and nope it's from 4-6pm and prices are different and much higher as well. Their normal menu is also NOT the same as their website menu and yes again much higher prices. Why would you not update your menus?? False advertising Our server....wow....probably one of the worst experiences ive had in a long time. Then here is the best part, paying up to $24 for a roll for average sushi and my roll that I ordered was completely forgotten for over an hour....our server who hardly came over the entire time we were there would come by only when flagged down. We were getting pretty frustrated. Finally we asked about my roll and not even an apology for the delay or anything, just an oh ok let me check. TERRIBLE SERVICE and False website information. I won't be back or recommend this place.

Online menu showed $11 for poke salad and I was charged $17. Very deceptive!

The sushi is great, and there's both seats inside and outside.

Just happened to be in downtown La Mesa at lunch time. After looking at other spots to eat and their menus, we settled on Konnichiwa. I am so glad we did. Service was on point. Food and value on point. My granddaughter ordered the tuna collar and it was perfection. So much food. Thank you we will definitely be back. Keep up the great job.

Got seated when we walked in and the host told us we can sit anywhere. 15 MINUTES later, NO ONE came out to help and there was a couple that came in and they got helped right away. TERRIBLE service.

Came here with my boyfriend, the place is small but cute. We were told to just pick a place and sit and we did but no server came and another couple came after us and got greeted and served asap. We waited for a good 10 mins before leaving.

My go to sushi spot nearby always satisfying and their happy hour drink specials are great $4 pints works for me! What i don't like is the "suggested " tip amount list from 18 to 30 percent seriously im not tipping more than 15 % on an allready inflated bill that's ridiculous!

I love their food and service. However, it's 59 degrees 7pm and there was no indoor seating. The couple in front of us waiting and had to sit in a tight space with another family. This place had a lot of outdoor seating but there surprisingly NO HEATERS outside. We had to get our food to go and eat at home. It was windy and cold. When we came home, there was no to go soy sauce, napkins or chop sticks. Not a good experience when we were also hungry. It's worth the investment to get at least 2 used heaters.

It bums me out to have to write this, because I do enjoy the sushi here. It isn't my favorite spot but it is pretty good. However, as has been noted by other reviews, they have some messed up practices when it comes to online ordering. On Feb. 12th I was charged $62.93 for a pick-up order I placed at the restaurant. I requested an itemized receipt and noted that the online menu prices were less than what I was charged. Based on the online menu my total should have been $48.28. I informed the server and he said that the menu price had changed but the online menu had not yet been updated. He refused to refund me the difference of $14.65. I left a message for the manager who called me on Feb. 13th and let me know that they are no longer able to access the online menu to adjust it. However, he was still unwilling to refund me the difference between the online menu and the price that I was charged. I informed him that such a practice is illegal and that I would be contacting the attorney general.

I placed an order for pick up and when I went to pay for it, the price was way more than what the menu says on their website. I ordered two small miso soups which online says they’re $3.50 each and a crunchy roll which was listed for $11.50. I ended up paying $5.00 per soup and $17.00 for the crunchy roll. When I told the girl about it she just asked if I wanted to cancel the order. This is just unethical and bad customer service/experience. I can understand a few MINOR changes here and there but from $18 to $30 is ridiculous. They should at least honor the price that’s listed on the website. Not to mention, the miso soup tastes like water. I really hope no one else faces unexpected price hikes like this. Definitely not going back.

Hidden gem. Service a little off. Should have gotten our seaweed salad first and no one came back later to see if everything was okay. We'll go back. Also I left my jacket and they kept it for me to get the next day.
