I was a first time customer here in November 2019. I never knew I never came back, but the food was awesome! I ordered a California Burrito, and for a price of under $13 (with a drink) it was the best deal. Sadly I never finished it since it was so big, but I did enjoy it a lot!! The best!!!

This place was okay as far as Mexican food goes. It's definitely not a bad place. The place was clean and we were seated right away. The service was excellent and slow. Not crowded at all. May be since this place is sort of tucked away and not visible. I enjoyed the food but there wasn't much flavor profile to it.

We loved this place before the new ownership. Good food, good margaritas, and a funny, personable waiter. Then, we went back in September 2023, and the service was terrible, food just okay. We decided to give them another chance today 12/19/23. We walked in at 7:05. An employee sitting at a table and too lazy to get up told us to sit anywhere we wanted. Then, as we looked for a table, she changed her mind and hurried over to tell us they were closed. I told her that the website said that the restaurant was open until 8:00. She said, “I know, sorry” (she didn’t seem sorry). I’ll be surprised if this place stays in business in 2024. I know we’ll never go back.

Best kept secret in East La Mesa! Easy to get to, just down the way from Anthony's Fish Grotto off of the 8. Great tortillas and great service. I'm a little bit of a food snob. Okay I'm a snob. I ordered Camarones al Mojo de Ajo, shrimp sauteed in butter which in most places is good but can be bland. I asked them to kick it up a notch with Serrano peppers. Perfect! I appreciate their attention to detail. They always remember my wife's regular order with iced tea and our preferred booth. I am on a mission to try everything on the menu. They have yet to disappoint. I look forward to every visit. ? A+++
Went in for menudo. I ordered 2. We got lots of harmony and little meat. Expected more for $10 bowl. I asked about their buffet, $20 per person. I think it's too much when you can go to El Torito for $18 and get more variety. Tortillas are the best though

The Camarones al Mojo de Ajo we're excellent as was the service, the lobster was over cooked and over priced but will not stop me from coming back for the Camarones al Mojo de Ajo and to try something else.
