We recently went to Reve, our favorite French restaurant in the bay area for my wife's birthday. As usual, everything from the food to the service to the timing of the meal was excellent. Sophie does a great job. We highly recommend the Reve experience. By the way, Reve means dream !
We just had dinner at Reve for their Truffle pre-fixe and the menu was delightful, well executed, and the service was excellent. The amuse bouche was gougers with a truffle bechamel-nice combination of fluffy gouger and richness of the bechamel. The beet salad with truffle mascarpone was well balanced and light with fresh shaved truffles and there was a choice of steak frite or sole and both were delicious and generous portions. We've eaten at this restaurant often but this time the meals were exceptionally good! I ordered the sweetbreads and they were very tender with little fat as I requested. My companion ordered the pork chop and was very satisfied. The portions were generous, and the staff is always welcoming and friendly.
