This restaurant was a complete disappointment for me. First of all, the staff’s attitude was incredibly rude. From the moment we walked in, they acted as if our presence bothered them. They gave short, sarcastic answers to simple questions and didn’t even bother to make eye contact. While ordering, they rushed us and wore expressions that made us feel completely unwelcome.
The food was just as bad as the service. Every dish we ordered was a disaster in both taste and presentation. The Hot and Sour Soup was completely bland and overly salty, like an old soup that had simply been reheated. The Orange Chicken was rubbery, greasy, and came with dry, stale rice. I seriously doubt the freshness of the ingredients. For these prices, serving such careless and flavorless food is unacceptable.
The overall atmosphere was unpleasant as well. Tables hadn’t been properly cleaned, the floors were sticky, and a heavy, stale oil smell filled the air. I haven’t had such a terrible dining experience in a long time.
In short, this place fails completely in both service and food quality. It’s shocking that a restaurant located in a tourist area like Laguna Beach would maintain such low standards. I definitely do not recommend it—don’t waste your money or your time here.

I love Peony’s so much! The prices are great for being right in front of the beach and their portions are excellent! I work nearby and love to order food from here when I’m feeling hungry. Staff is nice and the service is quick. The food is always so delicious no matter what I order. I’d highly recommend Peony’s to anyone who comes to Laguna Beach!

This place descriminates. I went in to order food but needed to use the restroom quickly and was denied by a young man who treated me like I was a bum. I told him I wanted to order food but needed to use the restroom and he physically blocked me. I've been to many restaurants but I have never been treated so badly. Bad business practices!

Anyone giving less than 5 stars is a hater. The food is fire, portions are big, staff is kind and helpful. I don’t live in Laguna Beach or anywhere near but if I did, I could eat there every day. Restaurant with real well cooked food like this are honestly so rare in the US, this place never disappoints!!
Ordered delivery and not disappointed. Excellent flavor. Quality ingredients. Really enjoyed. Thanks. Will order again when in town.

I didn't want broccoli and the only substitute offered was bean sprouts. I also ordered the fried rice and it had a few bits of egg. The waitress had to use a translation app so I could avoid the broccoli.
