We had a dinner party for 12 to celebrate a birthday. Roux created a custom menu for us. They were ready when we arrived and the table was set beautifully. The wait-staff was courteous and prompt. The food was just amazing- from the appetizers to the entrees; everything was excellent. The cook even made a point of saying Hello. We will definitely be back!

Food is no longer of quality! I ordered the shrimp and grits. I received 2 tablespoons of grits, and the rest was overly Salted shrimp and gravy. When I asked, was it good as I remembered, I responded now when I ask for it to be remade, I was told that they were out of grits.

Ordered two kids' Mac & Cheese, the Catfish Orleans and Shrimp Etoufee and sadly they were from poor to unremarkable. Kiddo Mac & Cheese came with watery cheese sauce and gummy grated cheese on top, which channeled Costco. Virtually tasted of nothing. Chick-Fil-A's Mac is honestly better and we had to send both back. The waitress kept trying to get us to over order, which I didn't like. The suggestion to add shrimp to the kiddo Mac seemed helpful, but my son who eats curry couldn't stomach it due to the amount of chili powder. Again, not the hallmark of good service. The Catfish came out after less than 10mins and so was obviously precooked and tasted microwaved, evidenced by the soggy breading. The grits I subbed from the herb rice looked great, but the jus just didn't hit and tasted of nothing. The Shrimp Etoufee flattered to deceive, again the biggest let down was the lack of unity the dish had in terms of what it was trying to achieve and poor blending of too many flavors. I'd eaten here a couple of years ago and thought it was ok, but upon return I can safely say I'll never go back. The wine was well chilled, but I had really hoped for a beer and they had none. I've had Creole cuisine in various parts of the Creole community and this just doesn't justify the price tag. Ambience is nice, but the waitress was standoffish when we voiced our concerns and I was left with little choice but to forego a tip. I hope they up their game, since the concept, venue and atmosphere remain compelling..

I stumbled upon Roux while searching for a spot with great food for my husband's birthday dinner. It was super easy to make a reservation (though not necessary on the Friday night we visited) and there was plenty of free metered street parking available (after 7pm). Tracy greeted us at the door and we got a cute corner table by a window. The complimentary bread and butter was great and my husband loved the garlic shrimp appetizer so much that he said he would be ordering it every time we come back. Pro-tip: save one of your rolls for dipping into the extra garlic shrimp sauce. We tried Friday night's special - Coconut Voodoo Shrimp (a spicy coconut curry with shrimp over linguine) and it was very flavorful. Our second entree was the Catfish with rice and okra. I'm not one to usually order fish, but it seemed highly recommended by Yelpers and felt "creole-ish" and I've got to say - it was very good! The chef really knows what their doing here!Besides amazing food, Roux's service was fantastic (especially from Tracy who sat us, took our app and meal orders, and offered us a birthday dessert). Bonus point for her sequin pants! I, myself, was wearing a sequin dress so I liked her from the moment we walked in. Haha. I would definitely come back (we want to try the Shrimp and Grits and Jambalaya next) and recommend to others. Thanks for a wonderful experience, Roux!

I would like to say that I wished I would've stopped in sooner but I'm glad I stopped in tonight and what a wonderful place what a wonderful atmosphere great staff fantastic food and brought me back to the times when I was a touring Musician through New Orleans I had such a fantastic salad and a wonderful entrée I highly recommend coming in and the other thing is I can actually walk there. Thanks guys for a great evening.

Authentic NOLA flavor & dishes in Cali? Yes please! From the moment you enter the restaurant the ambience takes you directly into the French Quarters. Every dish, sides, and deserts are filled with so much rich flavors. The catfish melts softly into your mouth like butter, a very subtle fish tastes. The jambalaya is fine seasoned, with a very distinct taste. You may not find jambalaya anywhere else that has the similar Cajun kick. Deserts tasted like their all made from scratch with real fruits. The entire staff work together to make a wonderful & satisfying customer experience.

Cute & cozy local vibe, welcoming owner (I think she was the owner), but not too impressive on food, nothing to compare what I had in New Orleans...
