as a 46 year resident of laguna i can honestly say ... hands down best ice cream shop overall in laguna beach.. worth the wait in line -- i promise!!

They have the BEST soft serve, frozen bananas, and ice cream bars!! You have all the toppings in the world to choose from. Southwell never misses. They have two locations, one in San Clemente and one in Laguna Beach. And the service is amazing. I have never had a bad experience. It is so cute inside, they have free parking, they EVEN have a super cute bathroom. You can't get chocolate vanilla swirl soft serve anywhere now, but they have it!! not only that but you can also get a drizzle, and there's many options to choose from. The music is always amazing, and so are the vibes. I usually get the frozen banana, either with the Englishman, which is caramel, and Heath bar, or the castaway, which is toasted coconut and caramel. you have to get it dipped in chocolate. It is so amazing.

I am OBSESSED. This place is so good I want to open my own, haha. The "uppers" flavor (w/ soft serve) is unbelievable. Also, super cute inside and staff is very friendly. There is no indoor seating available and the outdoor seating is a little loud being right on PCH, but wow for ice cream this amazing, I'm unbothered. Has its own parking spots in back which is very helpful considering Laguna parking.

A spot that beckons a return visit. I opted for the soft serve, caramel on the base, topped with chocolate and toasted coconuts. Though the place had customers, there weren't any waiting in line. I'd just recommend to have more seating available.

The good: I got the soft serve ice cream dipped in chocolate with peanuts on top and graham crackers and raspberry syrup inside. You're allowed one topping on top and one topping inside. The syrup and chocolate dip don't count toward the toppings. Other base options include the ice cream bar or a frozen banana. The interior is very aesthetically pleasing with checkered tiles, a fish eye mirror, a cute ceiling lamp that says "order here" and a neon sign. Our Dave Grohl-doppelgänger server was friendly (with our toddler too!) and helped us as it was our first time there. Outside there were 3 tables fit for 2-4 people with cute vintage-inspired pink umbrellas and pink Christmas lights. It was super clean and tidy inside. There were no toppings astray from their compartments at the toppings counter. You can walk to the beach from here. The bad: There's no indoor seating. The interesting: I've been to their San Clemente location and would say this one is cuter. However, both are in prime walkable locations near the beach.

You get to choose between a frozen banana, soft serve, or icecream bar followed by your choice of a classic topping, design your own, or, if you're an adventure seeker, you can choose from one of our intense, salty, or decadently indulgent creations, which you have the option to and then have dipped in warm, smooth chocolate. I went with the butterfingers topping, salted caramel drizzle, the chocolate/vanilla swirl, sprinkles, and had it dipped in chocolate. It was divine and worth $7.50, given the potion size and how filling it was. The decor inside is also really cute. I'd definitely come back here again!

The ice cream bar was delivered. I wanted the soft serve but their machine was down so I guess I'll just have to come back. The line moved quick and the store was very clean and modern.

They have 2 locations, and both locations are amazing and are consistent! They have 3 different options for your ice cream: soft serve, banana, or a bar. You can choose to have it dipped in chocolate and you have a choice of 2 toppings + a drizzle! I just love the dipped option and reminds me of the good old days when Mcdonalds would have dipped cones! This is definitely a place I would drive 30 min away for when Im craving a sweet treat Service: 5/5 Ambience: 5/5 super pink!! The concept of this place is super cool. It is the most aesthetic dessert place and it is very clean. I love how we can customize our ice cream. We start out with a base of either soft serve or an ice cream bar. There are a ton of toppings, a chocolate dip, and sauces. I got oreos, lucky charms, salted caramel sauce, and vanilla soft serve. It was a big size and the sauce brought the soft serve together. I would definitely come back here because I am in Laguna often.
