Terrible experience. I bring my family here almost every year for Thanksgiving. So many balls dropped when it came to service. I ordered a margarita on the rocks got a shot of tequila on the rocks. I was then charged for the wrong tequila on my bill. We had to ask for bread after being told it was coming. I'm assuming the server forgot to enter our mid courses because the entrees came out first. Once we told them we got our mid courses and I'm pretty sure they let our original entrees sit under the heat lamps instead of remaking the plates because our food was cold upon arrival. That is amateur hour stuff. I didn't complain because I'm sure most employees there don't want to be working on Thanksgiving. This was a very sorry $600 plus meal and I'm not sure I will return for Thanksgiving dinner here. It's a shame because we love The Montage and up until now have had pretty great experiences there.

Appetizers and salad and bread was very good. The main dishes need to be improved. Scallops were barely acceptable and there were only three scallops, but more importantly the sauce was only so-so and the vegetables were not special. The lamb was also barely acceptable.

We ate at the Loft, with drop dead gorgeous views and sunset. We had the tuna tartare , which was good but not as good as Water Grill in Costa Mesa. We had the gnocchi, which was not exciting and nondescript in taste. I had the king salmon which was really tasty and cooked to perfection. My husband had the scallops which were also very fresh and cooked perfectly but sauce and other ingredients in dish didn't work well in our opinion. The service was good, but nothing exceptional. We probably won't have a full dinner here again- maybe just some oysters and appetizers with wine.

The executive chef, Evan, is truly a force to be reckoned with in the culinary world. Every bite we had was delicious. I would highly recommend the filet mignon. The ambiance was comfortable, getting a front row seat to a lovely sunset over the ocean was divine. I will be back as soon as I can. Make dining here a priority.

We arrived at 2:30, they didn't take our order until 3:30, made us wait another half and hour then proceeded to tell us the menu is no longer available. Nothing was done to “fix” the mistake very upsetting

We celebrated a 90th birthday. Our server/bartender, Alex, took amazing care of us! From our drinks to our meal to the special desserts- a 5 star experience. We felt so well cared for.

Service was very slow. 15 minutes to get a cocktail. Wanted you to order in the mean time and we said we will wait for our cocktails. Then food took over 45-55 minutes. The waiter was wonderful but the back of house was having issues.

The entrance was beautiful and welcoming, and valet parking was quick, smooth, and handled with genuine courtesy. It really set the tone for what turned out to be a magical evening. Once seated, we were taken care of by our incredible server, Fernando. He was kind, attentive, and made us feel completely at ease. His service made the night even more special. The food was outstanding — high quality and full of flavor. I had the shrimp, and it was honestly the best I've had in California in a long time. Every bite was perfect. Yes, it's on the pricier side, but the experience is worth every penny. From service to ambiance to the food, everything was exceptional. We're already looking forward to coming back on our next trip to Laguna. Highly recommend!

From start to finish, the service, food, and atmosphere were absolutely perfect for a special occasion. We shared a variety of dishes, each one better than the last. The tuna tartare was light and flavorful, the octopus tender and perfectly seasoned, and the sides—especially the snap peas and carrots with dates—were unexpected standouts. For mains, the salmon was fresh and delicate, and the coffee-crusted NY strip steak was rich, bold, and cooked beautifully. We paired it all with a silky Pinot from Napa and capped off the evening with indulgent Espresso martinis, the perfect toast to the bride-to-be. The Loft delivers not just a meal, but an experience—refined yet warm, with ocean views that make it even more memorable. Highly recommend for any celebration or just an unforgettable night out.

Beautiful escape to Montage Laguna Beach at The Loft. Sat outside on patio with sweeping view of the pool to the ocean. We enjoyed the veal bolognese and coffee crusted NY steak which both were beyond delicious! I'm a filet Mignon snob and thoroughly lived this cut. Whipped potatoes were delicious and we loved the whipped ricotta to start. Service was great and we were visited by ‘Steven seagull' the local resident seagull who has a palate for fine dining! A must dine and experience for any occasion!

Beautiful restaurant in a beautiful hotel. Request a seat outside for a view of the pool and ocean. Food and beverages all top notch, but what really brings it to the next level is the service. Specifically, Seth. Incredibly kind and accommodating, he always goes above and beyond to make each experience something to remember. I could see him getting promoted through the ranks into management at the hotel, though we’d hate to see him leave the restaurant.

A very good experience. The food was pretty tasty, but not to the point of being as good as people let it on to be. The service was 5 stars and the atmosphere was very nice. This restaurant is located in the Montage Laguna hotel. It's on a very nice piece of property with an excellent view. However, this place does get crowded, so be aware of that. Overall - a very nice experience. I'd also make reservations well in advance for this place.
