I used live in Laguna and it was a locals favorite.
However since moving away and traveling back I was disappointed with the level of service.
I don’t mind the long wait times or the rustic nature of the food or the iffy hygiene however I can’t abide obtuse staff.
They refused to put our burritos into boxes, stating that “we don’t do that here” when I told her for years they did. She accuses me of lying.
It’s a shame as this used to be a nice place

Not enough space/ seating, dirty. The staff need to keep up with wiping down tables. We ordered food gave our name and they took down the wrong name kept calling the wrong name and found out it was us… the food sits where people talk and order so sitting there our food must have been laying out person after person ordering right In Front of it. The staff offered no apology no refund.. nothing. Food was sitting there for a good 20 min or so. Took down the wrong name, food was exposed forever at the order counter.. dirty seating and dining.. unfriendly staff. What is there to like?

I don’t care what anyone says, Taco Stand is fire. I grew up in SD, plenty of great Mexican spots I ate at before taco stand came around but Taco Stand is one of my go to for the freshness, cleanliness and taste. Their California burrito is perfect as well as the surf and turf burrito.

I generally love corn tortillas but if you don't get the flour tortillas you are 100 missing out. We got corn & my grandbaby got flour, she won, lol. The locals say the flour is the best as well. We just forgot when we were ordering.

We always get a great meal when we go. The guacamole is delicious. We usually order a quesadilla and burrito. Be sure to ask for cheese.

The tacos were truly amazing and the street corn was the best I've ever had. I had beef, chicken, and grilled Mahi Mahi tacos and each was exceptional. The corn tortilla was perfect.
