We had such an amazing experience at Ironwood! The food was absolutely delicious. everything was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared.
The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the service made the entire experience even better.
A special shoutout to Brooke, who was beyond amazing! She was friendly, attentive, professional, and truly went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. It’s rare to find service that genuinely makes you feel so valued as a guest.
Highly recommend Ironwood for both the incredible food and outstanding customer service. We’ll definitely be back!

We were visiting from out of town and had an amazing dinner! The service was phenomenal! Justine went above and beyond! We had the rib-eye and the lamb shank. Great recommendation on Justine’s part. We even got a complimentary dessert - the oatmeal cookie crumble! Definitely will be back when we come back to town. Thank you Ironwood and Justine for an amazing dinner!

The place was nice and small, with a very intimate atmosphere that made it feel cozy and relaxed.

It seemed like almost everything at this restaurant had a slight tang to it, and I couldn't quite figure out why. In some dishes, that flavor profile worked really well, but in others, it definitely didn't land the same way.

We started with the warm artisan rosemary focaccia served with whipped honey butter. The bread itself had that same subtle tang I noticed throughout the meal, but the honey butter balanced it out nicely. The added sweetness helped cut through the tang, making it much more enjoyable overall.

Next, we had the baked skillet mac and cheese, which was easily the standout of the entire meal. I don't say this lightly, but it was about as close to perfect as mac and cheese can get. It was rich, creamy, well-seasoned, and had that ideal baked texture on top. This dish alone made a strong impression.

We also ordered the cast iron roasted Brussels sprouts. These had a similar tangy-sweet flavor like the focaccia, and overall they were actually quite good. However, the raisins added to the dish didn't really contribute anything meaningful. At first glance, I even thought they were corn, which was confusing. While the sprouts themselves were well-cooked and flavorful, the raisins felt unnecessary and didn't elevate the dish.

The Caesar salad was probably my least favorite item. I'm not entirely sure why it was labeled a Caesar salad, because it didn't resemble the classic version at all. The Tijuana vinaigrette was extremely overpowering and leaned heavily acidic, almost like eating straight lemon. It lacked the creamy, rich, balanced flavor you expect from a traditional Caesar, which made it disappointing.

For the main, I had the prime 10oz flat iron steak frites. The steak itself was cooked perfectly and had great flavor, so no complaints there. Unfortunately, the fries were cold when they arrived, which took away from the overall experience of the dish.

Overall, the meal was okay. It's not something I would rave about, but it might be worth trying at least once. With such a limited menu, I expected a bit more consistency and refinement across the dishes. It wasn't the worst meal I've had, but it also wasn't the best just somewhere in the middle.

The environment was warm and friendly. The bartender was very attentive and knowledgeable about the restaurant. The Jimbo Slice with shaved ice was refreshing.

Some places simply stay with you, and this is one of them.

For the past seven years, my husband and I have returned here through many of life’s milestones, from dating, to our engagement, to now being married. We’ve celebrated birthdays, anniversaries, New Year’s Eve, and even the most ordinary evenings that somehow became special just by being here. There’s a consistency to both the food and the experience that’s truly rare.

What makes this place exceptional, though, is the people behind it. The level of care, attentiveness, and genuine warmth from the entire team has always stood out to us. During our most recent visit, both the manager and staff went out of their way to make our anniversary feel especially meaningful. Our server, Justine, was especially wonderful, personable, kind, and genuinely caring in a way that made the evening feel even more special.

This is more than just a restaurant to us, it’s a place tied to years of memories, growth, and celebration. We return not only for the food, but for how it always makes us feel.

Ironwood in Laguna Hills is one of south OC's finest restaurants and a place I bring clients to regularly. The wood-fired cooking concept is executed at an extremely high level — the quality of ingredients is outstanding and the execution is precise without being precious. I've hosted multiple client dinners here while working on transactions in the Laguna Hills, Mission Viejo, and Coto de Caza markets, and it always impresses. The setting is warm and sophisticated, the wine list is excellent, and the service team clearly understands what hospitality means at this level. For clients new to Orange County who think the food scene ends at Newport Beach, Ironwood is a reliable reminder that south OC has world-class dining of its own.

I wish I could remember the name of our server, but he has one of those stories where he started his dishwasher and is now a very, very good incompetent server

As an American guy who enjoys a solid date night spot, this place really impressed me from start to finish. I came here for a special occasion and everything felt elevated without being too formal—the atmosphere was warm and stylish, the service was attentive and genuinely welcoming, and the food was outstanding. Every dish was beautifully presented and packed with flavor, and the portions were generous enough to leave me completely satisfied. You can tell they use quality ingredients and take pride in what they serve. It’s the kind of place that makes an occasion feel even more special, and I’d definitely come back again.
