The Benster

A really nice handmade udon and soba.

We went for lunch on a Saturday and found out the hard way they were short staffed. Food came out extremely slow and the servers were standing by the kitchen chatting while the chefs were putting out dishes. Our simple order took somewhere around 45 minutes from order to dishes on the table. If there was an alternative we would've left. It took a long time to get our servers attention for water refills and even the check. And it just kept getting busier as we finished up.

Best Soba noodles that I have ever had.

Everything was incredibly flavorful, and the food arrived hot, fresh, and in a timely manner. To top it off, our server was exceptionally kind! We will definitely be back.

Delicious udon and soba! 🍜
I was traveling and stumbled upon this restaurant. It was close to closing but the staff was really nice to make an exception and allow me to order take out. Despite being take out it was still delicious. I just wish the portions were a bit bigger.

Horrible experience. I came in with a friend and after a short wait, we were told they only had counter seating available. That was fine even though the restaurant was pretty empty and there were multiple tables open.

What was frustrating is that it felt like they were trying to make it seem like they were super busy and couldn’t accommodate us, even though there were only about four tables actually dining at the time. Meanwhile, two people behind us were seated right away at a four-person table with no issue.

On top of that, the servers came across as rude and uninterested in helping us. One particular older woman was especially rude in how she spoke to us, which made the whole experience even worse.

Overall, very inconsistent seating and poor service. Not a good experience. Do not recommend.

Hostess saw me waiting for 10 minutes, there were empty tables , and didn’t even come up to me to tell me how long a potential wait would be (again, there was empty tables) just looked at me and then turned away. Party of 1 person by the way.

We visited this restaurant expecting a pleasant experience, but unfortunately, the service was disappointing. Despite the main dining area being empty, the owner seated us in a corner table. When we politely asked to move, she responded with, β€œA big table for 2 people?” in a dismissive tone.

It didn’t stop there β€” when we were ready to order, she repeated the same comment again. When asked about drinks, I simply requested water, and she replied, β€œWow, just water for a huge table.”

The comments felt unnecessary and unprofessional. Good service should make guests feel welcome, not judged. Sadly, this experience left a bad impression.
