California Pizza Kitchen at Laguna Niguel

Too expensive for mediocre pizza. Barbecue chicken pizza was nothing to write home about. Won't be returning...

It was my 79th birthday, and we had gone out for breakfast. My husband offered to take me ANYWHERE for dinner. After thinking hard, ALL I wanted was a CPK Italian Chopped Salad because our Laguna Woods store was closed years ago, and I had craved it ever since then (not realizing that Door Dash delivered from nearby).

Everything was Perfection with our salads and a side Marguerita pizza. LAGUNA NIGUEL store obviously focuses on FRESH salads, (and I say this because sometimes our former Laguna Hills Mall store had rusty limp lettuce in their take-out Chopped Salads.)

Wonderfully crunchy with their tasty Mustard Vinaigrette dressing, we both agreed: now that we can use Doordash to deliver, the Laguna Niguel restaurant will be receiving regular and often Doordash orders from us. Healthy AND tasty is a Win-Win, especially for Seniors.

Thank you Laguna Niguel CPK (and Doordash) for my now favorite dinner, back and available to us!

Hostess was very sweet (best part of the experience) Food was ok. Tasted like it sat out for a while and took a while to come out and the place wasn't very busy... Server was kind but didn't really check in with us. Overall kinda expensive for the experience

Good overall. It was our server’s first week but she did a great job.
The burnt ends pizza was ok, but some of the meat was a bit dry.
One of us got Mac n cheese with a lot of sauce and one of us didn’t; it would be good to even that out. But not a bad dish.
I’ve always loved the avocado egg rolls. They’re the best around

Do not order from here they never use safety seals I am making a report to health department they need to be investigated the manager Casey lied and then hung up on me when asked why they don’t use them this is the lowest rated cook for a reason avoid if you don’t want food poisoning I doubt they have a clean kitchen if they don’t even care about a safety seal can’t wait to see them fail that inspection.

Our server Hayden was so polite and honest, he accommodated all our requests and even came multiple time to check on us and the food.

Unfortunately, we won’t be returning. After being seated, we waited over 20 minutes just to be acknowledged. The host made an effort to find our server, but she was nowhere to be found. When she finally arrived, she took our requests but then completely forgot about us. We came in for a quick, simple meal and ended up spending two frustrating hours, only to leave disappointed. A complete waste of time

I had the most bland mac n cheese of life!

Our go to pizza place. Great servers, good food, clean, and fast. Probably visit twice a month with family.

CPK used to offer a certified gluten free pizza, but they just took it away without any warning. There are barely any restaurants that are willing to try and create a safe environment for celiacs to enjoy a meal, and it's so disappointing to see that they've given up on it as well.

The fries on the kids menu here are crunchy and delicious! And the kids love it. When I ordered the same thing at another store, I was disappointed with the regular French fries.

Parking: It's on the same lot as In-N-Out Burger, so it can be a little difficult to park at times because there's a long line of cars for In-N-Out-Burger's drive-thru.

First, I signed up for the CPK rewards. On the app it says "get a free starter". Little did I know, they only give you the option for the worst starters (not all the starters). They should be more specific about that.

Second, the $15 starter we do get, the avocado egg rolls, have less filling in 2/6 of them. They fortunately noticed this while serving it and immediately put in an order to fix the poorly put together- two egg rolls. This took about 20 minutes to arrive at our table- just the two egg rolls lol.

Third, we asked the server multiple times for napkins. Pretty much our hands were all greasy for the whole dinner experience. Not once were we asked if we wanted a refill on our soda.

Fourth, we ordered a Neapolitan pizza- which we didn't know but the cheese is served cold on top. So it's essentially a cold pizza- which isn't what I was expecting coming to a Brick oven style pizza place.

Lastly, the ambiance was cold. The waiter himself was too busy locking up for the night. The rest of the team looked like they were inconvenienced by our presence/ since we were the last ones in the place. For example, as we walked about, a short Hispanic lady looked at us leave - made eye contact- and didn't even say bye or goodnight. We kept getting dirty looks from most of the staff. We also did leave before close! We won't be returning to this location.

Food from all CPK locations are great and taste the same. which is a good thing. Consistency at every location. which you can't say about every restaurant. unfortunately, you can't say the same about the service. I been to this location many times, as it is the newest location that is closest to my house. every time I go, I seem to be waiting at the table for about 15 - 20 Minutes before someone actually comes to take my order. that includes even for someone to come just to get my drink order down. I feel like there are always way too many people just standing around than actually doing something. I went yesterday for example, someone comes to set me at a table and says all be with you shortly and never came. finally after 20 minutes of waiting, I just left.
