Our waiter was super nice. I was excited that most of the menu is gluten free. We really liked the orange chicken and honey garlic shrimp. My son said it was really good and seemed homemade. And what a deal! Just those two entrees plus the included rice was enough for me, my mom, and my 2 kids. Only $36 even after prices were raised due to inflation! Score!

Ordered Olive Tree this evening from Grub Hub and had orange chicken, Kung pao chicken, shrimp and vegetables along with white, brown and egg fried rice. Good potions and tasty. The green tea with lemon was quite good as well.Recommended.

This may be one of the best Chinese restaurants I have eaten at in years. On a recent trip, we had take out three nights in a row. The walnut shrimp is to die for. You might have a bit of a wait as locals stream through the doors for their called in orders.

A very enjoyable meal. Food was very flavorful, fresh, hot and exceptional portions. A vast variety of flavors with just the right amount of spice(heat)…..Now we can’t possibly leave without sharing the polite, energetic and professional server we had ( DEREK) an absolute treasure to the Olive Tree! Experience!!!!

Solid find. Ordered takeout, all of the dishes were hot, good sized portions, and very flavorful. Will definitely be ordering from here again.

The place is a small beautiful restaurant with excellent service and amazing food. We ordered chicken Pad Thai and Chicken Garlic. Pad Thai was not what a Pad Thai tastes like, but it was not bad. Their garlic chicken was great. Their food quality is exceptional and really fresh tasting. Even their water tastes good. Looks like a favorite local place with some regulars. Definitely a hidden jewel.

Hi, I'm only giving the 5 stars on my first visit. I'm a pretty picky eater but I'm a huge fan of all fish dishes. I love black bean sauce and I always order fish filet with black bean. I will warn you, when you ask for spicy, they ask on 1-10 how hot. I asked for 8 since I love spicy and most places I ask 10 and it's not at all spicy. She did warn me it is really spicy. She was absolutely correct. Although it was really spicy but it was really good. For 11.40$ I got this lunch special with dine in hot and sour soup. If you take out no soup but you get the egg roll or wonton. The egg roll was really good but the soup was ok, a little bland but with the hot mustard and hot sauce it was fine since it was a little bowl. I also think they could have given a little bit more rice. Overall for the price and what I paid for it is 5 stars. Very tasty and what can you get these days for 11?! I recommend

Came here for lunch. Service was friendly but a bit slow and they only had two other tables dining. As for the food, don't know how you can mess up orange chicken, but it was pretty bad :(

Unfortunately this was by far the worst Chinese food I've ever had. I ordered orange chicken- 0/10 & beef chow mein 3/10. Very disappointed

Tasty, good volume, good service and inexpensive! Happy place to dine. Garlic Broccoli shrimp, Lemmon fish, 四川擔擔麵, three items hot pot are all great! Jasmine

Wish I could give them "0" stars. My husband went in to order for me. He ordered the veggie fried rice and was supposed to order egg fried rice and hot n sour soup. He came back to the car to wait for the order. The total alarmed me bc it was much higher than expected. Ask him what he ordered and learned that he ordered the wrong fried rice item. He immediately went back inside to have them correct it. They had just begun to prepare the order. You could hear that cook beginning to start the order. My husband is mostly passive so I went in right behind him to ensure the order was corrected. The lady and gentleman cooking come from the kitchen and both had unpleasant attitudes. They expressed their frustrations verbally by talking about us in their native language. I then proceeded to request a refund for the entire order. I will NEVER spend my coins in places where I am not valued as a guest. These people have been rude on a few occasions since I started going there over 2 years ago. But today it STOPS. This is not the only place that makes hot & sour soup that fits my preference. And I will find a location that make a bomb hot n sour soup. For anyone reading this and considering this place, don't do it! Their attitude and level of Customer Service matches their sub par, sketchy location. And the food is not 5 star so you aren't missing out on anything but a poor customer service experience. Happy HotnSour Soup hunting I go!

I love their food. Best take out Chinese in Lake Forest. Food always taste fresh as if it's made to order. The only negative thing I can say is their fried rice doesn't taste so fried. But taste better than their standard white rice.

I moved to Irvine a few years ago and thought that with the large and diverse Asian community that it would be no problem to find good Chinese food locally. WRONG!! Every single place that I ordered from was very lacking in one way or another. I took a chance once and ordered pick-up from Olive Tree. I was really thrown off that it was part of a hotel...I think? But once I got the food home, my worries were non-existent. Olive Tree has the best Chinese food that I have had. I love their kung pao chicken (with a +1 or +2 spice level) and egg drop soup. I order here regularly and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future.

Got the green bean dish and it was soooo salty that we to throw it away. The fried rice was bland and the cashew chicken has sauce but not much flavor. Very disappointed

Great place for some Chinese cuisine and good flavor and lunch plates. You can get both a Coke and a Pepsi in one, lol. The lunch combo comes with options of egg drop or hot and sour soup, wonton or egg roll, choice of steam white or brown rice or fried rice with your protein of choice. Orange, Cashew, Kung pow chicken or Mongolian beef is super delicious can't go wrong with it but various other options in the lunch menu or larger portions great for sharing or not. I hear the chicken fried rice is a thing to try which will be next time for me.
