“They are the sweetest people. Be aware it is cash only. I was not aware and had my debit card, I did not have enough cash on me for my order. He offered me to come back tomorrow to pay him. I told him I had some cash but I was 4 dollars short. The food was already made and he was sweet and said no worries that it was fine. How sweet of him. I believe he was the owner. The food was delicious and made to order. I had called it in and when I picked it up it was ready and still hot when I got home. 10/10 Definitely recommend. I do plan to go back and will definitely Tip them for their generosity! It’s rare when you find a delicious taco spot that treats you like family!“

“Fabulous food, vibe and staff. We tried the enchiladas, ceviche and fish fillet they were all flavorful and fresh. The ceviche was delicous and had so much flavor, in one bite it had so many flavors and they all went complemented each other. The green sauce on the enchiladas was tasty and perfectly cooked. To end dinner we tried a coffee cake with ice cream that was bursting with flavor. Staff was friendly and welcoming. Up and coming new spot to check out. Would be perfect for a dinner date or birthday.“

“The pastor tacos were very good, had that authentic Tijuana style flavor. The asada tacos were okay but recommended pastor. The salsas went well with the food. Liked how they have free beans on the side. Horchata didn’t have that original flavor. Outdoor atmosphere.“

“This is the place I've used as a comparison of what real, authentic carnitas and birria tacos should be. The carnitas tacos rivel some of the best I've tasted in Michoacán, Mexico. I don't recommend trying other meats, although they're good too, the carnitas (mixtas/surtidas) and birria de chivo are the best I've tasted anywhere in the U.S. It's a no frills lunch truck in a somewhat rough neighborhood of Bakersfield, but it's well worth it. I lived in LA for 6-7 years and I couldn't find tacos that could come close to these from Los Cuñados Bakersfield (lunch truck).“

“This may have just became my favorite taco spot!! Met with smiles at the window, I had questions beyond my Spanish capabilities and the lovely woman’s english, yet the cook/owner/ man behind the counter was so descriptive and patient. Tuesday had tacos for a Buck!! So I ordered some carne asada and el pastor. I also needed to try the rice and beans, they tell a lot about a business. We added two canned Pepsis and for under $15 fed both of us well. The asada tacos were perfection!! Melt in your mouth perfection, the produce was fresh, the salsa was dynamite, and I could have put down a dozen. El Pastor was delicious only dimmed by the excellence of the asada. Then the tell all… the rice and beans l… they were done by a perfectionist taught by a grandmother, or Abuela in this case. Whole pinto “pot” beans were seasoned to perfection and the rice was what I’ve been searching for since my favorite restaurant closed a few years back. If you haven’t tried this truck, Do It! After hearing the love coming from the cook as he described what things were, I’m coming back, going back, may never leave. There’s so much more I need to experience. I’ll keep you posted. Good no no, I take that back, excellent food!! Great prices! Lovely customer service!! Don’t miss out!!“

I understand a bit of Spanish but there is a bit of a language barrier but, it never stops me from going to Tacos El Chivo. Because they go the extra mile to make sure they make me feel comfortable and make sure that they get my order correct. You feel like you are family. “Second time coming here and this time I got the chorizo burrito. Was a little different than the one I normally get but was good. I usually like mine with onions cooked with the chorizo and the chorizo a little bit more on the greasy side. This one was a little dry side but still good. This burrito also came with tator tot which are my favorite“
