We love Hog Island and have been going for years. The people who work there are nice. However, the service just isn't good. We had lunch there today and they were struggling with timing the food - and most importantly - it's almost as if they were refusing to buss our table when we were done. One our way out - I mentioned it to the manager/hostess - the one with the red hair - and she really did not seem to care - at all. She said they have 3 bus boys. I didn't...
Great waitress and servers! Great food! Concerned for the Hostess . She was easily overwhelmed. Inconsistent. Not nice to several patrons. Was shocked a bit by how she offered seats to some but not others with no consistency.
Came here on a hot day for oysters, shrimp and grits, and a glass of Prosecco. The oysters were excellent — some of the best I’ve had. Hog Island remains my favorite spot for oysters in town!
