“Nestled in the heart of Linden, off Highway 88 and in the hometown of Yankees great Aaron Judge, Route 66 Bar offers the quintessential small-town watering hole experience with a touch of modern comfort. Having visited this spot before under a different name, I was pleasantly surprised by the subtle yet effective updates the new owners have made. They’ve managed to maintain the cozy, laid-back atmosphere while adding several flat screens that give it a slightly more contemporary feel.

My friends and I had a great time here. We spent the evening chatting around the tables, taking shots at the bar, and enjoying a few rounds of shuffleboard. The relaxed, no-frills vibe made it the perfect spot for catching up and having a laugh without the noise or pretentiousness of a big-city bar. The staff was friendly and attentive, and there was no wait time to place orders or get our drinks, which is a rare find these days.

The only downside was the heat. It was noticeably warm inside, and although the AC was supposedly working, the fans weren’t. This made the space a little stuffy, especially as the night went on. Hopefully, they get that sorted soon, as it was the only hiccup in an otherwise great evening.

Overall, Route 66 Bar is a solid choice for anyone looking to enjoy a fun, relaxed night out in Linden. It’s a place where locals and visitors alike can gather, share a drink, and enjoy good company. I’ll definitely be back, hopefully when the fans are working!“
