Family BBQ Hickory Pit is a true neighborhood restaurant where everyone is treated like family. The new location and ownership have made huge improvements, creating a classic diner atmosphere. The food is excellent and great. Specific standout dishes include amazing chicken and beef quesadillas, great country fried chicken, and ribs that are better than ever—fresher, more tender, and not oily. The chicken fried steak with homemade gravy is delicious and worth getting again. Excellent coleslaw and peach cobbler are also noted. The service is very friendly, welcoming, kind, attentive, and excellent. The restrooms are spotless and clean, and parking is easy. It is a place where many plan to return.
