Amazing restaurant with delicious food. We love to get the challaw kadu with meat sauce as a main dish and the mantu dumplings as a starter, but there are so many good dishes on the menu you can’t go wrong.

Have been here twice now with no experience with Afghan food beforehand. Both times, the kabobs have been so good. I have tried the chicken, beef, and lamb at this point and have not been disappointed. Super juicy and just the right amount of seasoning. The rice and sauces have also been great. Reasonably priced for what you get. I definitely plan to return more in the future!

We have always loved coming to Roya but it's been a few months since we ate there. Unfortunately, even though the service was wonderful, they changed the way they cooked their basmati rice. Also the dressing on their dinner salad had very little taste. The rice was overcooked and had raisins and carrots on top and had a sweet taste to it. I loved the way they cooked their rice previously. This did not agree with my friend's palate or mine. We were disappointed.

This good was delicious. I highly recommend the combination appetizer and the lamb sewer for your meal. It was delicious and the sauces made everything come together even more. I will definitely be back!

Ordered qabuli pulao. Meat not cooked properly. Very less meat, full of rice and also expensive. Waste of money. Not recommended.

Really fantastic Afgan food..... honestly just really good food in general--the spices are distinctly different, but appealing. The ingredients are fresh! YOu will be glad you went!
Situated on First St in the centre of Livermore, Roya serves good Afghan food. While I missed the refinement of the Afghan spices a bit, I'd go here again for a still tasteful lunch.

Never had afghan food before, and this place was a fantastic introduction. Very large portions and spiced extremely well. Mango lassi was also extremely thick and delicious.

Roya never disappoints foodies. From rice dishes to dumplings (Aashak, Mantu) to kababs (No other Afghan restaurant uses filet mignon for kabab). Trying the grilled prawns. Man! What a treat!! They are all simply delicious. Fred, the owner and his staff are polite, attentive, and make sure you are comfortable. He offers somewhat o a modernized Afghan food and I say good for him. I love his dishes.
Incredible service, very warm.
