Amazing food in an authentic environment. Incredible service. Our waitress was named Asahi and she was very attentive and friendly. My friends had meat that they said was one of the best they’d had (and they are Japanese foodies) but the best part for me was that the chef created a vegetarian experience for me that was fabulous!
Vegetarian options: Vegetarian meal is not on menu so call ahead. Huge feast with tofu, mushrooms, peppers, rice and much more.
Dietary restrictions: Called ahead and ask if they’ll make a vegetarian meal for you! I was even able to substitute udon for a great rice dish!
Parking: Easy parking in front of restaurant

I had the best birthday dinner experience at Hikari with my boyfriend. We ordered the $60 omakase set with extra meat and an appetizer. Everything was delicious, and the waiters were amazing! They were so attentive and sweet. It was truly one of the best experiences I've had in Southern California. This place offers authentic Japanese cuisine with great vibes, pricing, and food. I highly recommend it – 12/10!

The best meat I ever had in CA! This is Chef's Omakase in Japanese BBQ. The quality of meat is excellent and there are variety of drinks to enjoy. Kudos to chef and staffs for their on time services!!

Like being back in japan. Delicious
My cousin and I had a lovely dinner here and we both loved the fun atmosphere and the excellent service with a great team of waiting staffs. We order the omakase, and was served a nice array of starters and grilled meat. The meal ended with a lovely curry and rice dish. I highly recommend it. The only con is the ventilation of the restaurant, and definitely don't wear your best clothes here.
Why 1 star? Because I have been here many times and tonight (Saturday) I was told, Omakaze only! That’s $80 per person, which does not include beverages. No thank you! Don’t try to rip off consumers.
As a Japanese, I would not recommend it at all. The cheaper Gyukaku is 100 times better.
Cozy atmosphere, great service and good food!
Always nice to eat here. It is smoky inside but the food is fantastic. They are doing Meal courses instead of choose your own meal now and it was $80 a person for 3 appetizers, 6 meat courses and a noodle end of meal serving. Overall a good experience and friendly staff.

Fixed menu. The meats are more marinated than expected, very delicious. Table next to us was cooking everything at once and the whole place got smoky. Don't do that! Enjoy each piece one by one. Loved that there was a mixed rice bowl with cheese. Perfect amount of food and drinks. Charcoal is the way to go.
Ridiculous, they are opened until 9, we got here like 8 and they close kitchen at 7 ,let me remind you, this is the place where you cook your own meat. :))))) So we were not allowed to eat here. Why not change the program until 7 and that's it.
Fantastic prefix Japanese BBQ place. Lean in to trying some things and you'll enjoy your time for sure
Quality of meat is excellent. Service and pacing spot on. Great atmosphere and staff. Can't wait to go back.
This place was such a great surprise. We ended up here after not being able to fina anything open during dinner time and we were so lucky to find this place. The food was amazing and highly recommend.
