This establishment is in fact a place to eat.
I just returned from a family dinner at Kotosh in Torrance-Lomita. We have been enjoying dinners there for many years, however, our waitress at dinner tonight was unsatisfactory and had a bad attitude. The service and wait staff in the past were always accommodating, fun and pleasant. Tonight was not the case. I had to use the restroom after dinner and the bathroom did not have any toilet paper although the chart on the back of the door showed it was serviced. I asked about it twice to our waitress and she said it would be handled. Several minutes passed and the paper was not replaced… our waitress said she told someone to replace it, but it was not done. Finally asked again as it was not being taken care of. She pointed at the women’s only bathroom and told me to use that one, which I did as I had waited over 10 minutes. Absolutely no apologies for lack of basic service, then she had a very rude and negative attitude towards me when the check was delivered to our table as if I did something wrong!! What the heck is going on at Kotosh now? What used to be a nice and friendly restaurant has evolved into a place with bad vibes and negative attitude and lazy wait staff. I won’t be returning anytime soon and will tell me friends about the horrible treatment I received. You can do better!

I came here about 7 years ago, a good friend of mine brought me here and kept coming back. The tiradito de halibut because there are two versions of this and the Acebichado Roll is a must. And the arroz con leche or platanos. Try it and you’d keep coming back.

The lomo saltado was delicious, the juices from the meat were absorbed into fries and tomatoes and made the dish really filling and warm. I really enjoyed how there were so many different textures in the dish and how well they all worked together.

Was in the area and tried Kotosh for the first time, and so glad I did. Service was good and the food even better. An interesting mix of sushi and Peruvian food, but ends up being a unique and flavorful seafood experience. We mixed it up and got a little of both and had a great experience trying new things. For example, the sushi with cebiche sauce was a gamble, but so worth it. Really enjoyed, highly recommend and we'll be back again!

The food was good - flavoursome and delicious. The portion was quite large as well. The staff was nice and it was not very crowded in the evening.

Delicious Peruvian restaurant!
It's tucked away in a cozy strip mall. There is a small private parking lot.
Upon entering, we were greeted by the friendly staff and quickly seated.
There's a sushi bar with seating as well as plenty of tables.
The ambience is nice and cozy with nice music. It's not too loud.
The menu has two sections: Peruvian and Japanese. Both offer lots of options. Also has gluten free options.
Our order was prepared quickly and everything was fresh and tasty. The presentation was also nice.

This place has great food, but its ceviche is out of this world. I can say, without a doubt, that is the best Peruvian ceviche in Los Angeles (and I have been to many, many Peruvian restaurants in L.A.). I strongly recommend this place for anyone looking to enjoy a ceviche, and the rest of Peruvian food, like if you were eating in Lima.

Our favorite spot in Lomita!
This time we enjoyed their lomo saltado, jalea, some rolls and dessert. Our server was super friendly and very attentive, making us feel very comfortable at all times. This is where we come for comfort food, always good quality, fresh and delicious!

The food here is absolutely incredible! I drive 80 minutes just to eat here—it’s 100% worth it every time. Carlos consistently provides outstanding service and truly exceptional customer care. Highly recommend this place!

This is a little gem! If you are not familiar with Peruvian cuisine, it is typically a fusion of the many cultures that have migrated to the South American country. In this case the main fusion at Kotosj is Japanese Peruvian.
The menu ranges from saltados (fried rice with French fries in the dish) to sushi and rolls. All are amazing!
One of my favorite dishes is the creamy shrimp soup! Traditionally prepared and is so rich and briney. Enough for a table of four.
If you are nearby give this place a shot! You will not be disappointed.
