This place is great. Came here on the way back to Los Angeles from Mammoth Lakes. Tasty, authentic food and their special soy sauce is amazing. The owner’s service dog named Blue is very friendly and cool. Would recommend as a place to stop for delicious and healthy food on a road trip on the 395 highway. This place has a great menu with plenty of options. Can’t go wrong with what you order, everything is great.
My husband and I ordered the vegetable bowl with steamed tofu and stir fried rice. Since the vegan sauce wasn’t available the chef came to our table to ask if a soy sauce alternative was ok. Nice of him to check with us. The staff was sweet and attentive. The venue was indeed circular. Cloth table clothes and a local confirmed it was the best restaurant in town. Update July 2, 2025: After 4 or 5 years away from Lone Pine, I am thrilled to report that the Merry Go Round is still excellent! It was wonderful to step in, smell the aromas, and eat a feast!
