In addition to food service, Mt. Whitney Restaurant in Lone Pine is also somewhat of a local museum. There’s a lot of history stored here. Old photos adorn every wall, and historical items fill shelves and display cases nearly everywhere you look. When you walk in it’s almost as though you’ve stepped back in time. For us, the servers seemed indifferent. Maybe it was because the summer season rush had come to an end and everyone was beat. The meals we had over two visits...
Standard American roadside dive/diner with standard American fare that averages about $20 per meal. Great burger and fries. Places like these aren’t too common anymore. Would definitely go back. Perfect place to relax with a meal and beer after a long excursion
Best waitstaff! They took care of our large 20+ walk-in group without batting an eye. Cheerful, quick and very friendly. We were also amazed at how fast the kitchen prepared the food, which was delicious. Many thanks, Mt Whitney!
