For those new to hainanese chicken and rice, the flavor is different from typical rotisserie or Peruvian chicken, but delicious in its own way. The chicken is flavorful, tender, and not dry at all. The mixed plate comes with a generous amount of chicken and rice, plus a side of broth that is really good. The broth is amazing—quite possibly one of the best.
The protein bowl is big enough for two meals, making it a pretty good value. The rice and the ginger scallion sauce have great flavor. The crispy chicken is a little better than the poached chicken, but the mixed combo gives the best of both worlds. Every dish is phenomenal and a bargain. The chicken skins and egg rolls are dream-worthy. Burd Chicken Rice has quickly become a favorite take-out meal and easily sets the gold standard for top-tier chicken and rice.
