It tastes good and they give you your food quick. It is very tasty and the service is great. It is in an acessable area and it is a decent place to eat.

I needed a quick dinner before the nearby college basketball game. China Star Express came up well recommended. When I arrived in the small parking lot, Pizzamania was busy and CSE was empty. I almost opted not for Chinese fast food because of the lack of customers. Right when 6:00pm hit, the place had a line to the door. Like many family owned Chinese fast food restaurants, they give you a lot of tasty food. But the prices here are below the market average, probably to entice Beach students. I had a 2-item convo with half/half fried rice and chow mein; mushroom chicken and broccoli beef. Everything was delicious. The vegetables especially seemed high quality. Definitely recommend this for fast, cheap and delicious Chinese food.

This Chinese food restaurant is a popular spot for CSULB students and construction workers. It's close to CSULB, and it's never super crowded in here! I got the 1 Item Combo with Chow Mein, Fried Rice, and Orange Chicken. The portions are good for being under $10, and there was a sign that says for a limited time, combos get a free medium drink from 3-6pm. The Chow Mein is good, the Fried Rice is pretty good too, and the Orange Chicken isn't too crunchy or too soft, and it's flavorful! The employees are nice, I've never had a bad experience with them. The restaurant has plenty of seating both outside and inside. It's decently clean, it just looks like any typical Chinese food restaurant. I would come here again. The prices are good, the food is good, and the employees are nice!

Don't come here, food is terrible and you will get sick. Chicken tasted old and left out for over a day I would assume. Green bean chicken literally had no chicken. I don't know how this place is still open. I don't even leave reviews, but it was so bad I had to.

Cheap, good eats close to Cal State Long Beach. This place has your typical take out Chinese food. The Mongolian chicken and Mushroom chicken are good. The pho is also surprisingly good. I would recommend this restaurant.

Calling all college students! This is your spot!!! Big portions, cheap prices, what more could I ask for in college??? This place was walking distance from my place in college and I frequented it often. The people behind the counter are nice and have no problems stuffing your container full. Although I have noticed the portions have seemed to shrink since my original visits, it's still plenty of food for the price. Is this the best Chinese food in America? Probably not but it's definitely some of the best bang for your buck you'll get from take out Chinese

This place chow main is amazing when they make it fresh during the dinner rush. I had the kung pao chicken, chow mein and green beans

I frequent this place often I like the veggie pho and the taro slushie but I won’t be going back. Some dude was being totally disrespectful to my wife. I’ve had some ok experiences, some ok some good, but that was the last straw. You lost my business.

Gave this place a chance many times. Sadly the service is very bad. I understand there is a language barrier with some workers but that is no reason for them to be so rude. Food is hit or miss. Sometimes it’s okay but usually the food is old and not worth

My girlfriend and her friends frequent this place and this happened to be my first of infinite visits. It's by far the best fast food Chinese I have ever had. I heard good things about it and since moving to the area, I wanted to land a great place to bring home quality Chinese. It's a clean restaurant and great food. I went with the three combo plate (which for the price isn't bad at all) I got the amazing chow mein and fried rice with beef broccoli and orange chicken and their mushroom chicken. The orange chicken and the sesame chicken that my girlfriend got were both crispy and had enough flavor on them. The broccoli was tender and the mushroom chicken was glorious. Big pieces of mushrooms and zucchini with chunks of chicken. It came with a free drink for my combo so that was cool. I loved how the chow mein had more noodle than cabbage. That was a huge plus. I'll be frequenting this spot a lot in the future.

A very solid Chinese fast food option and walking distance from CSULB. Being in that prime location, they could choose to gouge you, but they don't. The prices are very affordable and the portions are huge. What is unique about China Star is there are a decent amount of vegetarian and vegan alternatives on the line. There is an eggplant Tofu dish, an all veggies dish, and one of the pho options is vegan. And, oh yeah, they have Pho and it is great! They also have bubble tea and a bunch of other things, but I stick mainly to the 1 or 2 item combos or the pho. Check it out!

Came here 3 years ago, food was so delicious! Came here last week, was charged $17 for 3 item (they charge you extra for terriyaki chicken, they also charge you extra for bbq pork) there should be NO REASON for charging extra for the basic chinese food meats, chowmein was stiff and thin, blend. For that price and taste, would not come here again, only gave anothee star because customer service was great.

I came here for the first time based on a recommendation from a friend. When you order the 1, 2, or 3 item combo you get a huge portion of whatever you order into your plate. The orange chicken was delicious along with the fried rice, chow mein, and kung pao chicken which I had. Will definitely come back if I'm in the area again.
