I never would have thought good southern food would come from a location in long Beach. Omg this food is fire. i had to wait until I tried a few different iteams before i left a review. I've been there three times, blackeye peas were hard no taste. Only two pieces of barbeque, at least three for their prices, yams ok, but was a little two sweet more spices needed, Collards were bitter it was awful. GOT TOO DO BETTER! FRIED CHICKEN SUCKS ONLY DRMSTICKS..Parking: Front of Business two spaces

I took a friend for lunch yesterday for my 2nd time at Mcdowels and it was AMAZING AGAIN! Best soul food I’ve ever had, considering I’ve had it 5-7 times. One of the owners was very welcoming and treated us as it was our own establishment. I had the fried catfish which was perfectly fried w/ collard greens, mac&cheese, corn muffin and my buddy had Bubba’s fried chicken which he loved. So please go here and give them your business cause well worth it.
