I love Michael’s. The food is amazing and exquisite. The upstairs dining is gorgeous and on a great day they are able to open the roof for a wonderful breeze.

I visited Michael’s on Naples in Long Beach for my birthday and, unfortunately, left disappointed. We ordered the pizza, squid ink pasta with lobster, mushroom bolognese, and a steak. The mushroom bolognese had decent flavor, but the noodles were overcooked. The pizza was a floppy mess—the crust lacked structure, and the tomato sauce was bland and underseasoned. The squid ink pasta had a strong fishy taste that overwhelmed the dish. We also ordered a steak medium rare, but it came out more on the rare side.

On a positive note, the service was good—our waiter was attentive and friendly. However, given the price point, I expected much better quality and execution from the kitchen. The food lacked flavor. Sadly, I don’t think I’ll be returning.

This place is a must-visit! The food was absolutely delicious!!! the pizza and lasagna were both spectacular. The gnocchi was outstanding as well, though the portion was noticeably smaller than the other dishes.

The burrata starter was a bit of a letdown, as it didn’t really resemble a true burrata, might be worth renaming it on the menu to better set expectations.

The rooftop terrace was a great touch, complete with heaters and a cozy vibe. The staff were friendly, and the overall atmosphere was warm and welcoming. Also worth noting, they have an impressive wine selection with tons of options!

Michael’s on Naples was an unforgettable dining experience on the rooftop, which also has an upstairs bar. As soon as you enter this restaurant, the elegant ambiance and beautiful decor is extraordinary.

We truly enjoyed all the courses by Executive Chef Eric Samaniego and savored every bite!! Great quality ingredients and spectacular plating!! Each dish came out looking so beautiful!! The food surpassed all expectations! The combination of flavors was unique and delicious!

We attended the Valentine's fixed menu.

Food was mostly bland and under seasoned. Starter was cold when it arrived. Second course was just fine. Nothing wrong nothing memorable. Nettle pasta was supposed to have truffle and maybe it was made in the same room as a truffle buts as close as it got. Mains were again under seasoned, but not bad. Deserts we're simply bad.

Value for the price was terrible at over $150 per person.

First visit and will not return again. Long Beach offers too many better options.

Everything about it is good, and if you go upstairs, which you should, it is extremely well designed and flexible for any climate at the time.
Michael's kept almost every employee during and after covid. It's a tribute to the owner and management to have been able to do this. And the service reflects it.

They take a long time to serve you, and the portion sizes are unpredictable. If you’re actually hungry, don’t order the pasta dishes, especially the gnocchi. I’ve been here twice, and both times at least one person ordered a pasta dish and then had to steal off someone else’s food because they were still hungry. It didn’t help that it took so long for the food to come out, and they didn’t even warn us so we could order an appetizer or something.

One positive thing I have to say is that my cocktail was very nice. But overall I don’t think I would come back here. Don’t want to risk waiting 1.5 hours for food and then leave the restaurant hungry.

Mixed reviews this evening, but overall it was still wonderful. We ordered a quick appetizer before our real dinner at a place down the street. The octopus was phenomenally cooked and the smashed potato was an excellent pairing. I didn't love the wine or the cocktails but the bartender was awesome and gave us a lot of great tips and recommendations. Their coffee Negroni was superb.

The staff did what they could and we appreciate them. Still one of my favorite Italian spots in SoCal.

Great food. But noisy upstairs and found out, even at 5:15pm, you need a reservation for the booths downstairs. And no happy hour upstairs!!!

Truly one of the best restaurants in Long Beach.

Every time i eat at this place is an experience! I love the menu. The lasagna is excellent. It has that crispy edge that i like, and the tomato flavors just explode with freshness. Try the scallops, too. I also enjoy the ambiance.
